Surya mudra is fine if you have a specific weight reduction target. Restrict the practice to 10 minutes in a day. As you mentioned about your temper, Sheetali and Sheetkari pranayama must be part of your daily practice. Both these pranayamas will help you. These are very easy to practice. Along with this, you must change your diet. Avoid tea, coffee, spicy and pungent food. Take cooling fluids like fresh sweet grape juice, pomegranate juice, coconut water and wood apple squash. Pure ghee or olive oil or coconut oil should be the preferred cooking medium.
