A new interview with Jenna Coleman!
In it, she talks about Christmas, New Years, beauty products, and a few other things.
Christmas is a time I always spend with my family – they’re from Blackpool so I normally go back up there, and we have lots of people round throughout the festive period. I tend to spend Christmas Eve with just my mum and dad, wrapping presents and drinking Bailey’s. It’s become a bit of a tradition. Then, on Christmas morning – I don’t really know if this counts as tradition per se – but one of us is usually forced to phone my brother and tell him to hurry up to come round and help. My mum is the one who cooks Christmas lunch, but my dad and I help out – dad is on the turkey and I’m on side dishes.
Are you making any resolutions for 2022? I’m trying to be better at not being late. I’m also a bit of a bag lady – dragging round lots of things all at once and over-booking my diary. I’m one of those people who jams everything in and loses things all the time.
And finally, after a very long period without any news whatsoever on any of her upcoming projects, Jenna said the following about what she is looking forward to next year:
Next year, I’m looking forward to The Sandman coming out and Klokkenluider, which is Flemmish for whistle-blower. Both of those will be out early next year.
This is an interesting comment. We knew that The Sandman was going to come out at some point in 2022, but for Klokkenluider the latest update was that it would probably be out in 2022. The way that was said made me think that it would probably be out in late 2022, or in 2023. But it looks like the post-production is going faster than was expected a few months ago.
I would also like to point out the things she didn't mention in this statement. She didn't say anything about The War Rooms, or mention any other project she is involved in. Contrast this with one year ago, when Jenna mentioned being involved in a big budget fantasy project (which we now know is The Sandman), even though she had signed an NDA about it, and couldn't say anymore. So unfortunately it looks as if it will probably still be many months before Jenna does some more filming. I just hope that she will do more filming next year than in the last few years, but at the moment, it doesn't look like it. In many interviews, when she was asked about her future plans, she mentioned projects she would be involved in, other projects she was interested in pursuing. But this time, she didn't mention anything new she would be working on, which is not a good sign.
In 2018, she spent ~10 months filming The Cry and Victoria series 3
In 2019, she spent ~4 months filming Inside No 9 and The Serpent
In 2020, she spent ~2 months filming The Serpent
In 2021, she spent ~1.5 months filming The Sandman and Klokkenluider.
I hope that 2022 won't fit into this trend.
