I know there was a post some time ago saying mean things about 4-5 MCs, but there's something else that happened? because i've seen there's a lot of talking about the sheepgate, and of course no one likes to read mean things about their stories, but i wonder if something else happened that hurt so many people
Yes.
This lovely person created a burner blog that attacked a group of MCs last January. It wasn't constructive criticism - it was just spewing hatred and misogyny. For example, slut shaming was one of their go-to's.
Later in the day, they put up another one that attacked the creators of the MCs. Now, it's one thing to attack fictional creations, but attacking real people is the next level.
It was childish, petty, and pathetic. It was the height of bullying and harassment, but they thought they were "good guys" in this situation. Downright laughable.
It was very distressing to me (and others) at the time. It was equally distressing to see people I assumed were friends stay completely silent. Though I will admit, the vast majority of the fandom was incredibly supportive. Even so, it really took a toll on me and others. It's almost a full year later and they are still at it, and frankly, I'm done with it.
Over the past year, I have watched as they continue to visit my blog - if you hate me so much - just go away. It's so easy. They send me anons like the one sent last night frequently - I usually delete them - but sometimes I think it is important for people in the fandom to know that they're still out there, and they're still doing this shit.
I really wish they'd get the help that they need because it's not normal to have this level of hatred for someone that they do not even know. I may not be everyone's cup of tea, and I'm fine with that. No one will ever please everyone. But I have never done the vile things that they do to me and to some others. It's truly pathetic that they feel they're somehow superior. Anyone who behaves like this is the lowest of low, and I don't have to think, I know I am better than that.
