Let me start by saying that Shaze wouldn’t mind the MC being very romantic, but they would need to take things relatively slow as Shaze isn’t used to being in relationships with people. He’s had a pretty hard (and long) life. 

Some non spoilery facts about him:

He’s an amazing fighter. (The “why” will be revealed in the story!)

He can see in the dark (not all dark elves can) and he’s immune to fire. (The reasons will also be revealed.)

He’s no longer welcome in his homeland. 

He has a couple of scars on his body. 

He once had a vision and saw some glimpses of the future...
