Hi Courtney! I hope you're having a good day! I was just wondering if you had any advice on keeping Petrie's beak trim (and less sharp!) without having to take her to see the vet? She has lots of wooden toys to chew on, as well as a variety of other materials, but she shows little interest in the wooden ones. Lately she's also been going mad for her cuttle fish bone and I think it's made her beak a little too much like a dagger! Any advice would be great :) Alison & Petrie.
foraging toys are by far the best way I’ve encouraged my birds to play with wooden toys and that really helps keep their beaks down! (bird kabobs are fantastic for this purpose) Aside from that you could try offering harder foods, make Petrie have to crack through hard nuts like an almond, crush some eggshell or bite through tougher raw veggies!
