Mihawk: a violin player, one of the best there is. Will not settle for just being 'good'. First chair. Is respected by his peers, but not necessarily liked. Most people avoid him. Will ream you for screwing up when playing.

Shanks: a viola player (started on violin, but fell in love with the viola and hasn't gone back since). Lost his arm in an accident (at least that's what everyone thinks), and after receiving a prosthetic, he takes up viola after a two-year long hiatus to help combat his depression. Ends up becoming pretty good, and wants to start playing in a group since he really enjoyed doing it while at school.

Due to workplace drama, all of the viola players left the local orchestra and the conductor's in a funk since they have a concert in a few months. Then, Brook - the piano player - finds a guy who can help; this ends up being Shanks. Everyone likes the newcomer, except Mihawk, because that man is his ex who threw away their relationship like it meant nothing (read: lost his arm due to medical complications and withdrew due to depression as a result of that, as well as issues relating to his adoptive family, and Mihawk's being a dramatic bitch about it).

Mihawk loved sex with Shanks, and though he loathed to admit it, a certain kind of thrill ran through him (and inevitably right down to his cock) when the cripple topped him and, before letting the World's Best Swordsman release, whispered both harshly and arrousingly in the delicate ear, ordering him to say his feelings aloud.
