i think the thing i like most about the demon girl next door is that it's about a chronically ill supervillain and a retired magical girl working through their traumas and learning to love each other and that is a story that begs to be told with the gravity of an urobuchi drama like madoka, but the author chose to tell it as a series of 4koma gag strips running in manga time kirara, and i think that's absolutely the correct decision

i will never get over this scene. She is having so many internal feelings and the only way she knows to put it out is by wanting to be her enemy when thats the lat thing she actuallly wants
It occurs to me that Shamiko is essentially chronically ill. She spent most of her childhood in a hospital bed unable to function, and even now that her health has improved she's incredibly weak both physically and supernaturally.
The manga's author, similarly, has such poor health that she struggles to even work on the series. I wonder if Shamiko's condition was based on her own.
