Here‘s another #card I #handmade this week! 😋 Well, I know it’s not #harvest and maybe a lot of us are happy that spring is finally coming in northern hemisphere, but I couldn’t resist making a #fall inspired #shakercard with all the other #slimline #cuttingdies ❤️ 🎨 Materials and Methods (includes non-paid advertisements) Please check out my previous post for how I created the card base/ basic element shapes. I only changed my #dies from @aveccreative and my #color palette of #inkpads from @decotime , cardstock and aquamarkers for details. I used a yellow cardstock in slimline size and inkblended it to the top orange and reddish, added a #fox out of orange cardstock as well as clouds and hills. I taped these elements down as described in my other post but trimmed before about 0,5cm on each side left and right. Now I added a frame of foam tape, filled it with #glitter and a stuck acetate on top. A while ago I started preparing my first #easter #cards to reduce some stress right before that event. 💡background/ idea (includes non-paid advertisements) Because I’m using @decotimecrafts inkpads for my #crafting and collect them as well, I often end up with a bunch of plastic packaging where the inkpads are stored them. While looking at the shape (which is similar to 4 #eggs ) , I thought maybe I can give them a second life and reuse them in a #shakercard . Btw for all #crafters : Packaging paper/ card stock/ plastic packaging etc. and even cardstock leftovers can mostly be recycled and smaller parts as well. Just get #creative and think about pieces in a different way, how you might could use them otherwise. And a great benefit is that these are mostly free! 🎨 Materials and Methods (includes non-paid advertisements) This #card is a larger A5-sized card. I started by taking a #cardstock piece which fitted the plastic packaging (so I end up by A5-size) and cut out an rectangle measured for the plastic part. Important note: leave a small edge on the plastic piece you use which will be covered by the cardstock for adhesive later! Next I put my cardstock with the cutout on to another cardstock A5-sized and traced the rectangle on the other part. This will be my backing. Than I inserted the plastic piece into that rectangle cut out and glued them together with the overlapping parts. Now it was time to fill the plastic part with some glitter by putting the front part faced down on the desk and filling it up. Next, I glued the cutout part of the rectangle on the rectangle on the backing (before you fill the glitter please check if the pattern fits if important to you) and than put glue around the rectangle. Than I added the backing on top of the front and leave it to dry. In the end, I decorated the front. To be honest, it’s not my favourite card I made but it’s okay. Maybe I could‘ve used another color combination.
