❛ wake up, shikamaru ! we have a mission ! ❜  the fact she had to resort to BARGE into   his house due to no one answering the   door already was a pain, but now to be presented with her sleeping teammate was         going to require more effort.

she’s gracing him with a smirk, allowing her hand to run freely over his shoulder, up and down his arm, and across the planes of his chest. “you’re so… handsome.”

overwhelmed — he dares not move an inch, face undeniably hot, mouth uncomfortably dry.  “  of course not,  ”  he is able to muster the ability to speak, so long as he doesn’t allow his eyes to wander upon her nearly-bare chest. instinct had kicked in as they’d made out; shikamaru’s hands had wandered too low, fingertips ghosting across the hem of his girlfriend’s shirt, and, with the accompanied moan as his lips devoured the sensitive areas upon her neck, she had responded by lifting her arms. both of their minds had ultimately shut down, pure instinct driving them to undress one another (  his shirt had been tossed to the ground at least three minutes and fifteen seconds ago  ). after a bit of fondling, his hands had wandered behind her, following the lining of temari’s bra until his fingertips reached its clasp. fortunately  (  or unfortunately, depending on who you asked and when )  immediately after unclasping the garment, something within shikamaru’s mind had kicked back on, urging him tostop what he was doing. they had gotten caught in the heat of the moment, and though they were two consenting adults, they both knew it just wasn’t the right time to share such anintimate experience with one another.

he’s effectively killed the mood, (  his current appearance can’t be seen as sexy, even in the slightest; he can’t even look temari in the eye, for christ’s sake!  )  and though she may bedisappointed now, he knows she’ll thank him later, when the time is right, and they’re making love for the first time with love in the air, rather than solely lust.  “  i’m sorry. i just ruined this entire thing, didn’t i?  ”  now, however, he brings himself to look at her, an apologetic look in his eyes. god, with that smirk on her lips, and the flush of her skin…  “  you’re beautiful, you know. not that you aren’t any other time! it’s just — you’re so beautiful right now, in this moment, and i’m a complete fuck up for ruining it. i just… i just don’t want out first time to belike this.  ”

“i get it,” she breathes,”i’m beautiful all the time.” a grin has taken the place of her smirk, exposing her white teeth and freeing a few peels of soundless laughter. there’s a lot of emotion swirling in her chest, and, other than kissing him, which appears not to be an option at the moment, laughing is the only other thing she’s found that lets her breathe again. “it’s not ruined.” she’s gifted with no patience like the patience she is gifted with right now, when it comes to shikamaru. it probably means something about her feelings she prefers altogether not to acknowledge; instead, she buries her white-painted fingers in his loose hair, pushing it back from his face. “it’s not ruined,” she repeats, “and, if it helps, i’m quite confident we don’t have to have sex just because you’ve seen my breasts. there are several steps in between that you are skipping, shikamaru.” the second after her name leaves her lips, she kisses his quickly, observant of the slowing down his mind seems to do whenever she kisses him.
