It’s been weeks since the Player has left. They promised that they’d return, they always did. The Knocker hated it. Why was it that they would stay for days on end, but then disappear for weeks after?
He laid in their bed, wondering. Did they hate being here? Why wouldn’t they say so? In fact, when would they say anything?
The Knocker let out a big sigh, heavy with longing. With exhaustion. They didn’t even shudder at the sudden rough hands on his shoulder.
“What’s wrong, lover boy?” His thick German accent cut through the silence. The Knocker grunted.
“Don’t act like you don’t miss them too.” He muttered into the pillow. It lacked their scent. But even when they were here, it always smelled more of the fabric.
August sat down, the wood under him creaked. “They’ll be back. Don’t act like they died!” He petted the Knocker on his head. It made the other relax.
“It’s just... they never tell us anything. They seek answers from us, asking the dumbest things, yet...”
August hummed. “We’re still here for each other.”
The Knocker turned to face him. “Forever.”
Though it was hard to see, a small smile curved on August’s face. Without a word, he laid onto the other, burying his face into his chest.
“Ugh, did you smoke just now?” The Knocker gagged, as his fingers dug into August’s messy hair.
“Nein, it’s raining.”
The two stayed like this for a few minutes, until August had a brilliant idea. He climbed on top of the Knocker and brushed his half rotten off nose against the other’s.
“Want to try something new, Schatz?”
The Knocker knew just from the tone that whatever this old lunatic had in mind must’ve been nothing but perverted. Either way, he was bored, they were together alone and August probably wouldn’t let him leave so easily.
He let out a muffled gasp as he felt August’s hard hand sneak under his hoodie. It was so cold...
“What exactly do you have in mind?” He asked, tugging on the other’s hair lightly. August’s grin widened a bit.
“How shameless~, I just wanted to cuddle.” He leaned close to the Knocker’s neck. “With our hearts closer to each other.”
Rather unexpected on the Knocker’s part, but he couldn’t say he wasn’t into it. They quickly got rid of their clothes, tossing them next to the bed, onto the floor. The Player’s dog, curious at their rags waddled to the pile and took an interested sniff at them, only to gag at the mixed smells, quickly running back to its bed.
Once properly dressed for the occasion, the Knocker leaned back onto the bed and opened his arms wide. Not hesitating, the shadow man dropped himself onto the other. At first, it felt amazing. Knowing there was someone so close to them, wanting to spend their precious time with them... However, something became apparent to them both quickly.
“Why the hell are you so cold?” They asked in unison. They struggled to find a position in which they’d lose the least amount of heat from the other, but at the end, they both felt like embracing an ice block.
“I can feel rigor mortis setting in again...” August whined. The Knocker huffed.
“I thought Playmate gave back life to you. Did he forget blood-circulation should with that?”
Even as they complained, they hanged onto each other as if they could disappear at any second.
Suddenly, the Knocker saw something. In the game chat, a message popped up.
“They’re back!” He sang happily. August snuggled deeper into his companion.
“Good. Then they’ll come here soon.” He grumbled into the other’s chest. The Knocker tried to push him off (with little to no effort).
“Don’t you want to greet them?” He asked in a sinister tone. August shook his head.
“I’m not some puppy. They’re ought to learn not to make us wait.”
As soon as he said this, the door to the room was opened.
“I’m sorry guys, this week’s been crazy.” The Player almost fell over as their dog dashed into their leg. “You’re getting along I see-”
In a blink’s time, two agitated arms grabbed onto them, dragging them into the bed.
“Willkomme, Hase! Just in time for a little cuddle session.” August mumbled into their head.
The Knocker held onto them like a koala bear. As always, they emitted no scent, no aroma that could cling to cloth. But their warmth... it was so addicting. Sadly, the Knocker was quickly deprived of it, as August turned over, putting himself between his smaller sweethearts.
“You greedy asshole! Give them back!” The Knocker protested. August turned onto his back and held the two in his arms.
