Alec presses himself against Magnus’s side, breathing in his scent. He feels his fiancé's fingers run through his hair.
“By the angels, I love you,” he says softly, not wanting to break to tranquility of the moment.
“I love you too, Alexander.”
Alec wraps his arm around Magnus’s torso and pulls him closer. “I’m never going to let you leave again.”
It has been one day since they saved Magnus from Edom, their wedding was in three. Alec knows that they should be planning, but he honestly would rather just lay in bed with Magnus.
“I can say the same for you.”
“I’m sorry.” Alec knows that Magnus understands why he did what he did, but that still didn’t make Alec feel any less guilty. “I just thought that you would move on eventually, and that you would be fine if you had your magic.”
Magnus moves his hand from Alec’s hair to his chin, tilting it towards him so Alec is looking at him. “I know, but I hope you know that I never would have ever gotten over you. Losing you like that was one of the most painful things that has ever happen to me.”
Alec’s eyes start tearing up, “You would have been fine, eventually. I’m sorry.”
“You’re not like any love I’ve ever had before, Alec, losing you broke me. And what about you? Nephilim only love once, remember?”
“I could live with me not having you as long as you were going to be okay. I wouldn’t be okay, but I could live with it. I just want you to be happy.”
“I’m happy with you.” Magnus wipes the tear that was starting to roll down Alec’s face.
Alec grabs his hand and kisses it. His fingers immediately go to where his ring is. Their ring. He runs his finger across it, repeating his movements.
“You’re my world, Magnus.”
“And you’re my world, and my love, and my fiancé.”
Alec smiles at that, “I don’t think I’ll ever get over you calling me that.”
“Well, you better, or else I can never move on to calling you my husband,” he chuckles.
“I think I like that word better.”
“Yeah, me too.”
