Some things I didnât get about 3x04
- In a world where so many supernatural things exist and where Jace had automatically assumed that a memory demon or whatever had stolen Alecâs memories to give them to Valentine!Magnus on 2x12 and disregarded any other possibility, why are Alec and Jace automatically assuming that whatâs happening to Jace has to do with his motherâs mental illness? It could be, by why is no one taking into account that something supernatural can be happening? They jumped to this conclusion all of sudden with no evident build up from previous episodes.
- Why doesnât Clary take Jaceâs dreams seriously? I mean, she had prophetic dreams last season that she realised were true and meaningful, but Jace dreaming constantly about Jonathan is just âdreamsâ? Once again, in a supernatural world, why is everyone suddenly disregarding theyâre living in a supernatural world? And why is everyone so sure that Jonathan was actually dead? They just saw him falling down the river... no one bothered to find the body. Once again, in a supernatural world, why are they so sure that just because Jonathan (whoâs not even a ânormalâ human) is dead just because he was stabbed and fell down a river? Claryâs unwillingness to take what Jace is saying seriously is annoying me. Sheâs not being helpful at all by at least digging more into it and trying to investigate.
It just makes no sense. I think that the plot needed their negligence on 2x19 (when Jace âkilledâ Jonathan) to make the S3 plot possible and thatâs ok, but at least they could have them not forget the supernatural possibilities of their world (like they conveniently didnât forget when when Valentine!Magnus was about to be executed) on the following season and act coherently with the supernatural events they experienced on S2. Itâd be more believable to me if they admitted they fucked up in not looking for Jonathanâs body (did they even look?) and that there might be a possibility that by some supernatural cause heâs alive or that something weird could have happened. Heâs a burned toast who didnât die when he was burned and tortured and he was in hell with demons, so itâs not a stretch that he could be alive or that he could be tormenting Jace in some way.
