You and Liam have been friends since he and his sisters came to Sun Haven, you being the first person aside from Lucia and Nathaniel to welcome them and become friends with them. Liam was very shy around you and the other Sun Haven residents, but after spending time with you and becoming closer friends, he’s slowly getting out his shell, and his sisters adore you, always happy to see you when you come by.

Occasionally you come by and bake with Liam, like you were today. You were currently headed to Liam’s place, waving to a few of the residents as you walked, humming a bit. There was something else you were going to do while you were there, and that was finally confessing your feelings to Liam, as you may or may not have gained feelings for the baker as you and him have gotten close.

“Liam!” You called out to him as you saw him at the bakery. He turned around, dropping what he was doing, a shy smile on his face.

“Oh! Hello Y/n. What brings you here today?”

“Well, I was hoping we could bake together again today.”

“Really? I would love to.”

“Great!”

“What did you have in mind today, Y/n?”

“I was thinking of a pudding cake! I haven’t had one in a while and I was thinking about it the other day.”

“Sounds like a plan to me.” And with that, you and Liam got the ingredients together, him getting the ingredients for the cake portion, and you grabbing the ingredients for the pudding portion.

“Have you made one of these before, Y/n?” He asked as he set everything down on the counter, separating the ingredients from each other.

“I have! It’s been a while, though. I do have a recipe for it, if you want it?”

“Sure, I’ll have a look at it.” You nodded and grabbed a piece of paper from your pocket which was folded up, and handed it to him. Liam unfolded the paper, looking at the ingredients and instructions for a few minutes before he nodded.

“Okay, that doesn’t seem… too complicated, let’s do it.”

“Alright!” You smiled softly and the two of you set to work. As you worked on getting the pudding together, you occasionally glanced over at Liam, who had a soft smile on his face as he followed the instructions, occasionally glancing over at the paper you had brought over. Fortunately for you, you practically had the recipe memorized, so it didn’t take you long to finish what you were doing.

“Need any help?” You asked as you set down the bowl of pudding you had just finished.

“Could you read off the instructions for me, please?” You nodded and read the instructions off the paper, like what ingredients goes in next and which ones go together in a bowl, him following your instructions as you read them off.

“Alright, that should do it… right?” Liam looked over at you as he finished the last step.

“Yep, that’s it. Now to put it in the oven and just… wait.”

“Oh? What about that?” He pointed to the bowl sitting beside you.

“That is the fun part! Or at least, I think it is. Once the cake is finished baking, you poke holes into it and the pudding gets into the cake that way, but also stays on the top.”

“Really?”

“Have you never made one of these before?” You tilt your head slightly.

“Not really, no.” He rubbed the back of his head.

“Well, now you have.” You opened up the oven and set the cake into the oven before closing the oven door.

“Now to wait.” You decided to take the time to help Liam clean up, occasionally glancing over at him. It was now or never.

“Liam?”

“Hmm?” He looked over at you.

“There’s something I need to tell you.” You had finished cleaning up and made your way over to him.

“Yes? What is it?” He seemed a bit nervous. You took his hands into your own, looking at him.

“Since you moved here to Sun Haven, I have… developed feelings for you, and it just got more and more intense as we spent more time together, and I just… wanted to tell you that I love you, Liam.” Liam was quiet for a moment, processing your words. You could’ve sworn you saw tears forming in his eyes

“I’m sorry..! I didn’t mean to upset you-!”

“No! No, I’m not upset..!” Liam pressed a kiss to your cheek. “Quite the opposite, actually! I’m glad you feel the same way. I’ve been wanting to tell you for a while but every time I thought about it, I always backed out.” He rubbed the back of his head, a faint blush on his face.

“Well, I’m glad you feel the same, Liam.” You smiled softly, then let go of him before making your way over to the oven, opening the door to check on the cake.

“Looks good to me.” Liam nodded in agreement and slipped on a pair of oven mitts before taking the cake out of the oven, setting it down on a pair of oven pads.

“It smells amazing,”

“Of course it does, you made it after all!” You looked at him, smiling.

“Now for the fun part,” you grabbed a wooden spoon and took the end of it, which was a little more round, and poked several holes into the cake. You set the spoon down and picked up the bowl of pudding you had prepared earlier, and used the wooden spoon you were using a moment ago to spread the pudding across the entire top of the cake.

“There we go. Now it’s ready for the fridge, and we can enjoy it later. Well, let it cool off before putting it in the fridge.”

“Sounds good to me.” Liam went over to you, looking down at the cake you had made together, a soft smile on his face.

“Thank you for coming over to bake with me, Y/n.” You smiled and hugged him, kissing his forehead.

“You’re welcome, Liam. We should do this again soon.”
