So I just found out that the Spanish word for shit is mierda.
You know as a Canadian who doesn't know Spanish but knows enough French to get by in a basic conversation (and knows all the French swear words bc I lived in Gatineau for two years lol) I find it interesting that the word for shit is similar in the two languages (in French shit is merde).
Like the two languages are similar bc of their Latin origin........... But like. The fact that the word for shit is similar indicates that there's a Latin word for shit lmao 😂
Wait German has scheisse/scheiße (pronounced "shize-ah" afaik) which is similar to the English shit, and English was originally a Germanic language before Latin influence (but lots of words still have Germanic origins)......... Which indicates that it's old in Germanic languages too.....
