I’m assuming this was meant to be “small god”? I have to double check bc I do have that one other WIP with “gold” in the title XD

But that one is basically… the concept of a small protective spirit over a land, and then they make the first witcher on its land, and then Kaer Morhen is built there, and over time it grows in power somewhat but is still limited in scope, but is basically… the spirit of Kaer Morhen itself, and the small god of the witchers within?

Two for you!

1:

Geralt woke up in the middle of the night under a nearly-full moon, his medallion vibrating, up to his elbows in dirt.

2:

He was solemn and stoic and got the job done with no muss or fuss, and didn't cause any more trouble than could be helped by his very presence. He traveled alone, returned to Haern Caduch rarely, kept his head down, and did his job.

Jaskier careened - because his run couldn't quite be called anything more coordinated at the moment - towards Geralt as soon as he'd swallowed, butting his head into the witcher's thigh and purring as loudly as he could figure out how to.

He was flipping through the journal of... well, he wasn't quite sure. The journal had been in a small collection labeled "Bard - Name Unknown", and was one of a small handful, and it had largely just been a composition book for the first twenty or so pages.

To his surprise, the boy stepped back, scowling at the suggestion.

"I am not going back there," he said firmly. "They kill dragons in Lettenhove."

"Does Geralt need rescued from Starfleet or am I being requested?" he asked as he started walking towards the bridge of his little ship.

"The latter," she replied with a smile in her voice. "It's cute you think you could save Geralt from his verbal whipping. It's Eskel's turn, so you don't have to run, but after that you're on deck."

The body he’d dug up was that of a young man, perhaps 20 years old, who neither looked nor smelled like he was dead, let alone like he could’ve been buried as long ago as this grave would’ve needed to be in order for all the roots Geralt had run into to grow over him. But he had no heartbeat and wasn’t breathing and had, obviously, been buried for quite some time, so he couldn’t be alive.

“Fucking mages,” Geralt muttered to himself.

1. What’s your personal favourite thing you wrote this year? 

Honestly I think probably make a refuge, for all that it’s unpublished still. IDK I’m just really pleased with how it’s turning out. :)

5. Which of your fics do you wish was more successful?

honestly I gotta admit, all my fics this year have been far more successful than anything I’ve ever written before.

That said, I did write something during whumptober that i’m pretty proud of that i wish had more eyes on it, but it’s got implied MCD at the end and I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so I don’t take it personal.
