A bit of a more user friendly guide on the basics of SFM for those who have never used it before. 

*Note that you need to load a map before you are able to edit models, lights, or cameras.

I often get asked to make a tutorial on how to “make a good sfm” from various people. I usually tell them its mostly through lots of practice and hard work. but recently I realized I wasn't actually addressing the real question. How do you find good resources and fixes to problems you may run into, but don’t know how to describe. or worse, even know a solution exists for? of course depending on your level of “google-fu” you can often find the answer with a bit of digging, but that takes time away from your actual project. And while I do plan on making a large “SFM essentials” video at some point its still a long ways off. 

So in the mean time I have compiled a playlist of videos that have helped me the most over my 4 years of using source filmmaker. My hope is that this helps people find solutions to issues they may be running into while getting a better understanding of the tool overall.

This playlist covers Cinematography, animation, lighting, particles, scene-builds and helpful tips and tricks.

I will be constantly updating the playlist as I find more videos that help me with issues I come across (yep i’m still learning new things 4 years in)
