I wore my favorite vest May 6, with a circle skirt I made a year before the vest. Lucky me, they are perfect together. I used two purple Halloween fabrics from @joann_stores... a black dot and a black cat print. I never imagined this would look so good that I would wear it all year long. The "vintage" buttons are probably circa 1989, and I apparently am vintage myself...I bought them brand new as an adult. I found the costume pattern at a resale shop years ago. It always looked right, but I was afraid it might be baggy or clunky because it wasn't intended for regular wear. I worked at grading each pattern piece between sizes, and I did fine. Next time, I plan a deep teal thick corduroy, and I only need tiny tweaks to the center front panel. The first two images are from the first day I wore this. I didn't get a full-length image this week. This week I wore it with two necklaces I also made years ago, stringing onyx and faience scarab beads with accents. The first images show a masterful #polymerclay necklace made/gifted to me from #DonnaKato. This project took longer than expected, with 21 pieces to cut out including lining and interfacing. I am so glad I stuck with it! #sewistsofinstagram #sewover50 #sewover60 #Imakestuff #imakemyownclothes https://www.instagram.com/p/B_64zn9Js3z/?igshid=11yqhi3qzhdy
