I thought some of you would appreciate an update on the bucket bag situation after the wonderful response I had to my “market research” post. I had said that there would be a shop update last week and then, well, Covid said “Um no.” ____________________________So, here’s the situation. The nearest fabric store is over 40 miles from my home in the SJW capital of Georgia (Athens) and although I did go there and was able to get a few yards of lining fabric, the mask Nazis were in rare and hostile form. It turns out that, thanks to mask mania, it is next to impossible to get white or really any solid fabric from a retailer, online or not. The same is true for interfacing. I did manage to order some, but then that hypocrite governor in California locked down the state again. Turns out, all solid colored fabric on the planet and all interfacing is warehouses in California. Who knew, right? I might get it this week or I might “experience a delay” and get it in September. I almost bought bed sheets to use for lining fabric, but then those come from China and there’s apparently been a huge run on bed sheets in the U.S. so that option was off the table. So, fine, I would use what I have ... and then my sewing machine died. 😕 It has now been repaired but it can no longer maintain the tension to see heavy fabric. Alright, I will suck it up (heavy duty fabric sewing machines are not cheap) and buy a new sewing machine. Guess what is also not in stock anywhere in the U.S. thanks to the mask craze. 😳 ____________________________ I have faith that by Friday I will have a new sewing machine and fabric to sew on it. I might even have leopard fabric if, as my neighbor often says, “God’s willing and the creek don’t rise!” 😂 ____________________________ #coviddrama #covidmakesmedrink #sewingnightmare https://www.instagram.com/p/CC3iaQzJ35K/?igshid=4b4n98fvrlqv
