☽⋆˚࿔Sevika likes watching you sleep⋆˚࿔☽
“What is her problem?”
You tapped three fingers on your wrist, eyebrows scrunched stubbornly as you semi-glared up at your ceiling. You huffed loudly, the sound echoing as the image of her came after a beat, lingering behind half closed eyelids. You tried talking to her, in spite of yourself—in spite of how fast your heart hammered in your chest whenever you managed to muster rambled words. The words never stuck, her expression always flat whenever you tried to make any inch of conversation. She hated you—this you knew, you were sure of it. Why else would be her reasoning to deny you the time of day?
You’d sit at lunch, surrounded by your friends, picking helplessly at your food while sneaking glances at her. She’d sit in her same spot, across from Edward Cullen—the man who had your friend, Bella Swan practically wrapped around his finger. You’d pushed her to talk to him, and so far it seemed to be going well.. Unfortunately for you that wasn’t the case, despite Bella’s advice on telling you to get out of your comfort zone. You tried, you really did, but she just didn’t budge. Which frustrated you behind your own comprehension. You couldn’t understand why you were so adamant on wanting her to like you, but there was something so..captivating about her. The only successful conversation you both had involved a project, but not much after that.
She plagued your mind from the first night that you met her, convincing yourself that you were going crazy after witnessing her in your bedroom. You’d see her at the foot of your bed when waking up from a puzzled dream, unable to sleep at all. You were losing it, this you were also sure of. You blinked, groaning as you rolled over to glance at the clock on your nightstand. 2:35. You could only imagine how much concealer you’d need in the morning to cover your ghastly eyebags. You sat up, head in your hands, dragging them down over your lips to let out a long sigh. Tomorrow, you thought after a while of staring at the empty corner in your room—tomorrow you’d try again. You thought for a moment, recalling after a second and slammed your head back into your pillows.
“Yeah, fucking right.”
You scoffed, turning over to stare at the moonlit washed walls. After another ten minutes or so, your eyes grew heavy as you decided it was finally time to sleep. You were two seconds from falling asleep when you felt it—the slightest breeze that brushed over your skin. Nothing big that demanded your attention..except the fact that you knew for a fact your window had been closed. You ignored it, too exhausted to even think about that, deciding you’d lost enough sleep. Then your ears picked up the slightest creak, your eyes shooting open as your body followed—sitting upright. The sight before you was..jarring, you could swear you had forgotten how to breathe—your heart clawing its way up your throat while every bone in your body screamed at you to run.
There she stood, an unsettling still of her silhouette standing in front of your window. Two yellow orbs embedded themselves into the abyss of your corner, the very sight making your breath hitch. Your eyes raked down her figure, settling on her calloused hands that rested at the sides of her waist. She took a step forward and you clutched the duvet harder, lips beginning to part.
“Don’t scream.”
Her voice was low, spilled honey that coiled its way into your ears.
“O—okay.” You responded, voice barely reaching a whisper.
The two of you sat in silence for what seemingly stretched on forever, a low rumbling of thunder threatening to break the quiet. A flicker of lighting painted over the contours of her face, grey irises that bore holes into the base of your skull—the room bleeding back into darkness.
“Your heart’s beating fast.” She noted.
“I’m sorry—“
A thunderous clash slammed, a loud gasp escaping you as your attention tore from her to peer at your window. When you went to look at her again she was closer this time, standing at the foot of your bed with an almost ogling linger. You blinked, hands running down your thigh to pinch the skin. Pain bloomed almost immediately, a reminder that this is real and you weren’t dreaming.
“Have you..” You started, your words nearly dying on dried lips. “Have you been here before?”
She stayed quiet, her footsteps inaudible as she slowly rounded the bed, stopping at your dresser. She raised a hand towards your small case of books, running a hand across the textured covers.
“I like watching you sleep.” She admitted. “It’s kind of fascinating."
Your eyes drank in her stature, a fitted black short sleeve squeezed around her forearm, paired with baggy black pants.
“I thought—I thought you—“
She cut you off with one swift motion, turning around to face you. “I wanted to see you.”
She sat on the edge of your bed, eyes still burning holes into your own. Slowly you unclenched the blanket, blinking as the cold breeze hushed over your collarbones. She smelled woodsy, a slight mix of rain and something else you couldn’t place. Another breeze and you shivered, Sevika’s eyebrow scrunching. You watched as she slowly leaned closer, hearing the soft inhale.
“You smell good.”
“Thank you.” You replied, breath hitching as she got even closer.
You peered down at her mouth, plump wine dark lips that had parted when she got even closer. You blinked, still half convinced you were dreaming, but not necessarily ready to wake from whatever this was. You mirrored her movements, watching as she stared at your lips.
“Don’t.”
Your body went still, taking one sharp breath, allowing her to press her lips onto yours. Your stomach felt fuzzy, as did your other senses—a fiery sensation that left your body feeling weak. You melted into the slow kiss. It wasn’t passionate, it was cautious and shy, almost fleeting. Your lips lingered for half a second before she pulled back, a motion that made you chase her lips. This time when your lips met, it held more weight than last—your hands reaching up to your shoulders to steady yourself, a soft smile planting your lips at the feel of her large hands cradling the back of your thighs. You hummed into her lips, fingers tangling in the nape of her neck. Breaths mingled together as her teeth grazed your lower lips, her grip tightening on your legs.
Your body leaned back into the pillows, the both of you separating for a beat before your lips crashed against one another again. The second your thighs wrapped around her waist it was as if a switch had flipped.
“Stop!”
Her body had somehow flung itself from you, her expression now squelched in pain. Her hand covered her mouth, looking away from you as if your presence had overwhelmed her somehow. You sat up with your arms resting in between your legs, the heat still fresh as you began to pant.
“I’m sorry.” You stammered nervously.
Sevika’s hand dragged from her mouth, tucking her bottom lip between teeth before she spoke.
“I’m stronger than I thought…”
You stayed quiet, moving a piece of hair from your face as you looked up at her. The veins in her arm throbbed, something you noticed as she tore her eyes from you, slowly making her way towards your window.
“Wait..don’t go please.” You said, ignoring another clash of thunder.
Sevika begrudgingly turned around, eyebrows still scrunched together while she swallowed harshly. She made her way back over to you, slowly leaning down into the mattress.
