Feeling this cover.  I’m excited to hear this compilation - apparently it’s 5 1/2 hours long!?!  That’s a lot of Deadluv.
sidenote: Jerry Garcia lived in the town I went to high school in.  One late, hazy afternoon after-school, I was sitting in the car with friends in the parking lot of the local Seven-Eleven, devouring snacks in a post-Maui Wowee stupor.  My munchie of choice was the microwaveable bean and cheese burrito from their frozen section.  It wasn’t Taqueria Cancun, but under those conditions, I’m not sure anything tasted as good as that nuked burrito.  Anyway, Garcia pulls up in his BMW right next to us, gets out, and goes in.  I do a double, then triple take as he walks by the car.  My eyes go big.  Pretty quickly he comes out with what looked like some twinkies, gets in his car, and drives off.  Â
Umm, that’s it.  The first and last time I crossed paths with ol Captain Trips. Less than a brush with fame; maybe more like I felt fame’s breath on my arm in a crowded subway car?  Anyway, whenever I think of the Dead, I think of that burrito too.
'Rubin & Cherise' by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy & Friends, from ‘Day of the Dead’, a tribute album to the Grateful Dead curated by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, with all profits going to Red Hot Organization. ‘Day of the Dead’ is released on 20th May via 4AD.
Fucking Twelvies.
I was in the library with my friend and we sat down in some chairs and next to us where a bunch of kids that were talking really loudly about their boyfriends and girlfriends and she leaned over to me and, with as much disgust in her voice as she could manage, whispered "sevies"
my favourite thing at my school is just how offended people get if you compare them or call them a year 7, or even just insinuate it. like today in the hallway, outside of class, you could not move for people, and I said "why are there so many of them?" and instantly, 3 year 8 kids shouted "we're not year 7" and 1 of them came up to me getting all in my face [note: im 5'9" but slouch so as to seem less intimidating to people] and said "we're year fking 8, not year 7! and what are you gonna do about it, im bigger than you!" boy, you should have seen just how fast he moved when I stood up straight, making myself near 2 heads taller than him.

So me and my friend were goofing around in the hallway at school and he all "I don't have money to pay for ice cream but if you buy me some ill repay you in hugs and kisses" and kissed me on the cheek. And two of the new seventh graders were walking by and saw us and were just like "OMG they must be together" to each other and pointed at us and it was just really funny their facial expressions
people who still call seventh graders sevies
