4. My favourite christmas memory is probably from back when I was 11, and I was in the school chamber choir, and I did my first carol service. Once upon a time I was a good enough (second) soprano to sing the entire chorus ofĀ āOh Magnum Mysteriumā without having to look at the words [much]. But yeah, we sat at the front of church with red hideous red choir robes over our school uniforms and sang carols in 3 different languages by candlelight. Oh, the nostalgia.Ā
8. Thereās a christmas snowman with my name printed on it that my nan bought for me, which is supposed to be my favourite ornament, but itās actually one of the wise men from the nativity scene I think my parents got as a wedding present, because itās been in the family since long before I was born. So, itās not technically a christmas tree ornament, but itās still an important part of christmas. He seems to have gone AWOL at the moment, which is not very christmassy.
14. In terms of popular christmas songs, I quite likeĀ āYour smile warms me like central heatingā, fromĀ āChristmas in the Air (Tonight)ā by Scouting for Girls. Thatās more to do with with how itās a little bit funny, especially because of how we didnāt have central heating for a lot of when I was a kid. Apart from that, I had quite a religious upbringing, and even though Iām not sure about the extent to which I believe in a lot of it, traditional carols - Once in Royal Davidās City particularly, are something I really like, and I think are quite nice lyrically as well.Ā
