A recent scientific study has found that Sevan trout possess the ability to utilize exotic matter.
Not only could study of this fish lead to some new scientific knowledge that would grant us better understanding of the forces that govern the universe, but it could also enable interstellar travel as well as new environmentally friendly energy solutions.
Unfortunately this fish species is so critically endangered that it may go completely extinct by the year 2032 even if all fishing of the species and destruction of their habitat ended today.
Scientists are preserving DNA samples in hopes that future generations will be able to reverse engineer the fish via genetic manipulation of one of its 4 closely related species which are also unfortunately endangered and may go extinct before 2045, which would make it impossible to bring the Sevan species back.
These 4 species could easily recover with efforts made to breed them if pollution of their environment is reduced and the species is no longer harvested.
However, despite it being illegal to fish these 4 species since 1929 major supermarket brands have been fishing them into extinction under nicknames such as British, European or Scandinavian salmon, or indeed Columbian or Californian salmon.
It is also worth noting that they are mildly poisonous due to the polluted environment in which they are caught.
Ironically however, the Sevan trout itself is seemingly immune and safe to eat.
