Has anyone seen “Saying Goodbye” ? I just finished it and damn. When he kissed her cheek at the end and you realise that’s the same cheek he kissed her earlier. The last time he kissed her and it’s like she still remembers how his lips felt against her cheek after a whole year has passed. It just hurts how even though they’ve been friends for 7 years their time together was still so short.
Also him telling Elise to be happy; essentially saying goodbye to her and tearing up is also so heartbreaking because this is the first we see him being so raw and vulnerable about his disease. Before he’s always comforting others- his mother, Elise- but now here he is with the love of his life telling her things he wished weren’t true.
Lastly this is just a theory of mine… after their date night the scene cut to a shot of the sky and then back to Elise and her family celebrating new years. I think the shot of the sky is meant to portray Ricky and that he had died. Because when Elise opened the flash drive she watched him like she would never see him anywhere else but her laptop screen.
