I love your gemstuck! What’s your thought process behind the gem placements?

Thank you!! And it depends really. It can vary between which gem placement just matches up with a character’s canon design, if it’ll be practical for the character itself, or it just aesthetically fits nicely! lol

Feferi’s is on her forehead because it’s basically in the same place where her tiara’s jewel is (her forehead feels empty without her tiara; tho it was also tempting to put it on her navel).

Eridan’s is on his chest because i thought it would be cool if his cape would literally be summoned out of his gem and be attached from there.

For sollux, I feel like he gestures to his head a lot because of his psionics, and since most gem powers are activated directly from their gem i figured it would only make sense to have it on his forehead too ^^

#sersktch #so basically things i consider for gem placements are:#will their character look unusual/unfamiliar if this detail is left missing #character design practicality #and weapon summoning functionality and if they'll look cool doing it lol
