As a Lysene, Serra wears her hair curled and with scented with spice flower, the same perfume scent Illyrio sprays on Daenerys for her meeting with Khal Drogo. She decorates it with a veil made with Myrrish lace. Serra wears cool blues and purples because it compliments her eyes and skin tone. However, she includes red details and accessories because that is the color most associated with her husband. I included her hands because Illyrio keeps her hands in his room after her death.

I am very curious about her relationship with Illyrio. Serra was likely a spirited woman because Illyrio disliked Daenerys’s timidity and his current bedwarmer is talkative. It’s highly likely she was a slave because she was found in a Lysene pillow house by Illyrio, a culture and person who has no qualms about slavery (hence her teardrop tattoo, which may or may not be common practice in Lys but considering the importance they place on blood lines and their history with Volantis, I would not be surprised). But she was still able to marry a high ranking magistrate and Illyrio remembers her fondly, even if their marriage is why he is banned from the Pentos palace. It makes me wonder why. Was Illyrio oblivious to their power dynamic? Or did he relish in it after the death of his high born first wife? Was his preference for fair haired blue eyed girls develop before or after Serra? What did she do to catch his eye? What did she do to become his wife? Was she smart and advised his work? Did she bond with him over their humble beginnings? What was her relationship with the other bedwarmers? How did she feel about his work in the slave trade? Did she love him? Or did she convince herself to love him? Or was she plotting his death?
