Love Deathspell Omega but creeped out by Aspa's fascism and p*dophilia? Well here is something that equals DsO without the fascism. I love every release they do, but this one in particular is just hits the spot. It is essentially blackened math/grind/noisecore given its sheer extremity and rage. Somehow 22 minutes sounds like a 2 hours as the sheer complexity and chaos dilates time. The compositional circularity and use of recurring motifs truly makes this a genuine masterpiece.

Delphi no 9 Πάρις Ταβιτιάν 19.10.2017
Replica of the Serpent Column erected at Delphi, 2015. Original at the Hippodrome of Constantinople (today Sultanahmet Square, Istanbul, Turkey)
Part of an ancient Greek sacrificial tripod, originally in Delphi and relocated to Constantinople by Constantine the Great in 324. The serpent heads of the 8-metre (26 ft) high column remained intact until the end of the 17th century (one is on display at the nearby Istanbul Archaeology Museums)
1907 drawing of the allie citiy-states list:
The Serpentine Column has one of the longest literary histories of any object surviving from Greek and Roman antiquity.
Together with its original golden tripod and cauldron (both long missing), it constituted a trophy, or offering reminding of a military victory, dedicated to Apollo at Delphi. This offering was made in the spring of 478 BC, several months after the defeat of the Persian army in the Battle of Plataea (August 479 BC) by Greek city-states alliance for the Greco-Persian Wars
The removal of the column by the Emperor Constantine to the new Roman capital, Constantinople, is described by Edward Gibbon, citing the testimony of the Byzantine historians Zosimus, Eusebius, Socrates, and Sozomenus.

100 of my favorite modern metal releases, from 2010 to now. i stuck to death, black, doom, post, blackgaze, stoner, sludge, etc for this just to make it easier but there’s a few i threw on here just because it felt like they fit. i did make another one of these lists recently for the more punk/hardcore influenced stuff though which you can find here if you’re interested. i’ve also listed all of the albums below. Chart with album names included Spotify Playlist
