Dear Fellow Prudes,

I am the first to say Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance was sheer trash. ‘Twerking’ all over a married man isn’t artistic or entertaining. It is simply attention seeking behavior. Beyoncé’s Grammy performance this year was quite the opposite. Here’s why:

She was on stage with her husband.

She showed what it means to be comfortable in your own skin.

Her outfit looked AMAZING.

She can dance AND sing AT THE SAME TIME LIVE. (This is obvious and needs no proof.)

Her tongue stayed in her mouth.

She looks just as in love as when she did the "Crazy in Love" video in 2003, over TEN years ago.

He's chivalrous and SO proud of her.

The world needs more positive and loving people to look up to.

She can do this and make it look easy. (If you try it, record it like him.)

Instead of bitching about her performance because your young children were watching, talk to your child about it! Even when they don't act like they're listening they are! For once, you're in the room when they're seeing this. Remember, kids are smarter than parents when it comes to technology, usually. Beyoncé in a leotard performing, dancing with her husband, and singing about being drunk in love is not the most scandalous thing they've seen. It should be embraced for being a positive relationship in an industry marred by abusive relationships and infidelity. 

We could all take a page from her book and be confident, powerful, and strong women we are all capable of being. Really though, our bodies know how to make a baby, carry and feed said baby for nine months, then kick it out when it's time to go and produce food when it's outside of your body. Men lift weights.
