Skullcandy Mix Master Mike DJ Headphones
Taking a look back at older DJ headphones, it is clear that not much has really changed about them fundamentally. Most of the popular headphones still have the traditional two cupped design with some sort of single thick headband to back them. There haven’t been any real “fresh” ideas to the well known design, and that is because there isn’t much that needs changing. Some companies have taken to a more modern and minimal design, while others have tried to go with a retro look that takes us back to early communications and radio headphones. There is one thing that has changed about headphones and that is the value of branding. The average consumer will not be able to read the specifications on the back of an earphone and be able to tell what the ratings mean. The might see bigger numbers and assume that it means something is better, even though it could be the exact opposite. DJs and other artist are still putting their names on personalized headphones and that will not continue to change in the near future either. One difference is that with more headphones available, prices are sure to come down a tick – so don’t expect them all to be above the $300 range. http://www.wired.com/reviews/2012/03/mix-master-mikes/
