In the library..
Later reflections:
I met a handsome guy that day....I had already been in my quiet corner spot of the library, which was my favorite because it was the usually emptier nook of 2 screen computers, which made working on my presentation much easier, anyways...back to the meet-cute. My concentration from my excitement about the last minute addition to my research broke slightly as I noticed a male in my peripherals sit down a couple seats away from me. I thought it was polite of him to leave space between us, I don't like distractions when I finally get into my creative flow. As time for my first class neared I began to save all my changes and triple check that the most recent copy of my presentation was on my jump drive and also backed up on my student account on the computer. I heard a sneeze and as I pulled out my headphones I turned to look over for the first time, "Bless you."
He was in dark basketball shorts and a dark shirt. He had dark tanned skin, darker hair, white teeth and an attractive smile. He was handsome. "Thank you." He responded.
I turned away to look back at my screen but it was only another couple moments before I heard his voice again. He made polite short but genuine talk about what I was working on. He was engaged, he was listening, he was responding, heck, he was in the library at 8:30 am. I liked that. I was happy to have met him on a day I was all done up and feeling confident. I felt a genuine connection because I felt worthy of his smile. I respected and liked him even more when he didn't ask for my number when I said I had to go, not too long after our conversation had started. For some reason I felt myself momentarily disappointed he didn't, but deep down I already had the hopes he was just naturally more respectful than to be so forward to quickly.

I am having the hardest time finding articles that look at why biomarker levels used for the quad screen increase or decrease when the fetus has Down's syndrome.
They know that AFP and uE3 decrease and total hCG and inhibin A increase... but WHY? Do they know why? I don't know, it surely doesn't appear that way. All I can find are explanations with regard to open neural tube defects.
Senior Research is getting its finishing touches.
