3/2/2025 - R.E.P.O.
Lethal Company was fun and all but R.E.P.O. overall feels much better for the "Dick Around in VC with Friends" game niche that it used to fill (while also just having the benefit of feeling much fresher). Many of the small annoyances or inconveniences in Lethal Company have been alleviated or changed up in R.E.P.O., with the game feeling much more compact and active due to environments being very heavily loaded with treasures, spawning with a carrying cart to hold lots of small objects, and being able to work together to drop off treasure in a designated spot rather than dragging everything back to the start of the map.
The bigger emphasis on upgrades and tools, with an inherent reward given to combat with monsters gives the game a stronger sense of progression too, making it feel overall a lot speedier than Lethal Company did. It also comes with silly looking muppet-mouth characters that look at you and open like trash cans whenever someone speaks, it's very entertaining all around. I'm looking forward to the game's future updates!
