Thank you all for the congrats!!! I’m leaning toward deferment (if this is pertinent information for anyone lol) just because it makes more sense with what I expect my life to be like in January and also probably financially...but I haven’t made up my mind yet so I’m giving myself the weekend to think about it. The biggest point in favor of starting right away is only plain old excitement and not wanting to wait any longer than I already have, but that’s very hard to move past. XD

5) character you were most surprised to end up writing
Honestly, probably Misfire, haha. He’s a good boy and I like the Scavengers, but I didn’t really get the need to write about any of them until Misfire/Swerve entered the scene. And now I’m currently writing my second fic with him in it, lmao, so.
13) your strengths as an author
Dialogue, I think. I always do my best to make it natural and to give each character a unique voice without relying on overwritten accents. I’d love to find an excuse to write a dialogue-only fic again (i think i did one or two back in the ol’ homestuck days) but for now, I guess I’ll write prose too. :P
18) were there any works you read that affected you so much that it influenced your writing style? what were they?
honestly, i just read so much that I don’t know that I pick up anything specific from any given fic/writer so much as pick up general things I realize i like over all the things I read. The only thing I can specifically recall is sometimes when I read very long fics with a lot of plot and politics and such and I just *eyes emoji* i want to do thaaaaaaat. These Games We Play had a major part in my actually starting my MegaBee fic, though I still doubt I’ll really ever get very far into it since it’s just so long.
People who write long, like, really long fic amaze me, tbfh.
23) any obscure life experiences that you feel have helped your writing?
Well, I mean. I’ve definitely written fics based on real experiences, oops. An example is Thank You Letters was based on the time in college when a friend of mine, who was sexually active and had been for a while with several partners, told me she had never had someone perform oral on her. I lost my goddamn mind and the next time she had a partner, I drunkenly told him at a party that he had to do this. He had to do the damn thing.
So obviously, many years later, I vaguely used that as a template for a fic with robots doing the nasty.
Because, you know. Life.
So i guess in a general way, random life experiences sometimes make it into fics to try to ground it in the kind of ridiculousness that real life has. Which I guess helps?

I just have a ganglion cyst, but it’s on the underside or one of my fingers so doing things with that hand is getting a little painful. Anyway they just gotta remove it and scar up the area so it hopefully doesn’t return. It’s kind of hilarious because it’s SO minor but they still need to knock me out???
