Scattered AU- My version of Doc finding Grian
Wind ripped around the small hermit, gasping and yanking at his lungs as the cold seeped into his body. Pain wrapped around his head as it pounded in agony, a drop of a body rang out as a following message entered the chat for the millionth time
- Grian froze to death -
He enjoyed the few seconds of relief that respawning would give him before he was thrown back into the blizzard of his spawn. His lungs screamed for good air, for warmth, his entire body craved warmth and freedom from this never ending death loop. Cold ate at him, chewing him to raw bones as he curled up the most he could, trying to keep close his warmth, tugging his entire body close, covering himself weakly with what was left of his wings.
He awaited his next death, shaking harshly and coughing weakly, still gasping and rasping for air while his little friend, Kit, poked at him with their little nose before it let out annoyed noises and just pressed itself into the freezing hermit who was no longer alert to the freezing iceland around him as the snow burried him a bit.
A crunch of snow sounded out, a green man tugged the thin coat closer, taking a few more steps. It was /freezing/ up here. He needed to get Grian... and get out of here. He spotted a small flash of red and hope and dread filled the german's chest before he trudged onward, his cyborg arm beeping a bit from the cold and his robot eye threatening to give up. He couldnt pay them mind, he needed to get to Grian.
He needed to save him from this hell.
He stepped on something that was ice hard and looked down to see a oddly shaped snow pile, taking a step back. A small fox was curled up against... a figure, Doc knelt down and ignored the fox as it yipped and bite at him to leave the figure alone and quickly brushed it off.
He couldve cried from relief at the sight of Grian,, freezing, with... a fox tail and fox ears, and... dead wings, but he was alive. He could get Grian out of her, but judging on Grian's condition, he was close to death again.
Doc took off his coat quickly and wrapped it around the other hermit, he yanked Grian out of the snow getting a small whine in reply but that was all as Doc held Grian close to his cold creeper body as the small fox chased him down the moutain, he prayed Grian wasnt going to die in his arms. They were almost there. He could see his and Ren's hut.
He didnt know what had happened for the rest of that, all he remembered is that when he came back to his sense, Grian was laying in a bed, everything wrapped up and tucked under the few blankets they had while Ren was making some bread and poor soup.
Maybe... things would be okay, the creeper let himself believe.
Maybe they wouldnt find anyone else for a while, but they got one back. What says they wont get the others back as well?

- Since you answered with a parenthood fact about Skylar, I’ll do the same for Myla. Plus my mind is just focused on Myla’s little kiddies.
Myla has about 8 kids in general when you put all her different ships together. With Thermite, she has 5 kids, a set of triplets (Cerise, Joshua & Dylan), a son (James) and finally, an adopted daughter (Nicole). With Maverick, she only has one daughter (Athena), and with Ace, she has twins (Mateo & Anneliese).
With the triplets, she vowed to never have a child again, however, five years later, she was given a surprise with James. Then she finally decided no more kids. Only to adopt Nicole about a year later.
Athena came into Maverick and Myla’s life planned shortly after the two got married. Athena was extremely difficult to take care of as a baby and both Maverick and Myla decided they had enough of babies.
The twins were little angels for Myla and Ace. They had little trouble with the twins and might consider having more. (This is just me debating whether or not to have Myla pop out a few more little kiddies).
I don’t remember the last time I posted here...but yeah. I guess it’s a bit of an update for you guys.
So! I have been pretty active on Twitter and in that time frame I’ve been thinking about well, disappearing from all social media. (and maybe even discord..) This is mostly because after the dumpster fire I kinda just stopped touching Tumblr and now I’m afraid to come back cause I fear people forgot about me. I just feel like a ghost in a sense. I feel like my friends don’t even like me anymore even if they say they do. I’m gonna continue to draw but I just feel like I’m not gonna get anywhere with it career wise. But, I’ll always enjoy it as a hobby. Anywho, what I’m saying is I’m probably just gonna wipe myself off the internet. I’m probably just being dramatic but to be honest...I dunno what else to do. I don’t wanna be a burden on anyone anymore. I’ll stay around if you guys really want. My accounts will stay of course if I do decide to go.
Quick Note - FINAL CHAPTER! Hi, thank you to everybody who has been enjoy this fic it has ment the world to me to see that you guys are enjoying my story’s. So here we are part 4 - 9,205 words later. I hope you guys have enjoyed reading this as I have really loved writing it 😁🥹🥰

Alue’k basked in the warmth of her brothers hug, just enjoying the comfort and company.
Lo’ak smiled, he remembered so clearly how a younger Alue’k would claim hugs can make anything better and she would rather eat Ikran shit than admit otherwise.
Eh, what can you aspect from a girl that a carbon copy of her (extremely stubborn) father.
The moment was quickly disturbed as the sound of an Ikran landing caught their attention. A figure dismounted the Ikran and made his way over to the group. As he grew closer a knot started to twist itself in Alue’k stomach as her grip grew a little tighter on her brothers.
It was their father.
Lo’ak and Neteyam shared a concerned look, which wasn’t helping with Alue’ks growing worry at all.
The man in question all but charged at his children but at a calm pace trying to keep some level of composure.
It wasn’t working very well.
Once Jake had reached his children he stood tall, towering over them. Alue’k stared at her feet worrying on her bottom lip and wringing her hands, she could practically feel her father burning gaze on her.
She swallowed the lump in her throat as she nervously let go of Neteyam and Lo’ak. Slightly lifting her head to give them a small smile showing that’s she would be ok … probably.
Both boys have small reassuring smiles before turning to face their father. Neteyam stood tall matching Jakes posture while Lo’ak stood slightly slouched looking more comfortable but the way his tail flickered in agitation and worry betrayed his facade.
Neteyam met his fathers gaze Jakes eyes were strong and determined but right now they seemed dazed and … tired.
Who wouldn’t be? He’s been up for hours searching for his little girl who has a history of reckless behaviour. For all Jake knew his baby could have been laying broken and dead at the bottom of the floating mountains.
Neteyam tried to ease his dads worries, he always looked out for his siblings, making sure they were safe. However Alue’k was … different. She didn’t back down, wouldn’t turn down an opportunity to prove her worth … which normally lead to her doing something stupid.
Even if she never had to, she struggled to see her worth. Her size and stature often acting as a hindrance to her … adventurous activities.
her entire family valued her they couldn’t imagine a life without her. Neteyam couldn’t understand how someone who is loved by others so much could feel so … alone.
He can’t even imagine what life would be like without his baby sister who’s always trying to make others laugh and smile. He can’t imagine what life would be like without any of his siblings but again Alue’k is just … different.
Who would make there dad laugh, lighten his mood when there in trouble and would bring out their fathers goofy side when she declared a tickle fight.?
Who would make their mom smile when she looked at the way her arrows were entangled with pretty flowers and colourful plants or bring out the smile their mother reserved for when she was being bombarded with story’s of all the funny things Tonôwa had managed to do in just one day?
Who would Lo’ak spend hours joking around with, causing all sorts of trouble?
Who would kiri have to share her secrets, a confidant who would give the best advice?
Who would wait behind with Tuk so she didn’t feel left out from the big kid games, who would always find a way to cheer her up when she was sad or know the right words to say when Tuk felt inadequate?
And finally he thought who would hug him the hardest when he was struggling with all the pressures of being his parents golden son, to show him it was ok to mess up and make mistakes. To not have the weight of his sibling on his back at all times?
Alue’k.
Neteyam looked at his father and watched as he sighed, pulling his hand own his face.
Jake looked at Neteyam jerking his head to the side signalling to him that he was to go home. He nodded, gently but firmly grabbing his brother by the arm and dragged him back to where their Ikran were waiting.
Once they had mounted their respected Ikran, Lo’ak turned to his older brother.
Lo’ak - She’ll be ok, right?
Neteyam met Lo’aks eyes which were filled with worry, he gave his brother a reassuring smile.
Neteyam - She’ll be fine.
That’s what he hoped. With that the brothers flew back home to wait for their father and sisters return. leaving Alue’k to her fate.
The thick silence that followed the brothers as they left was … intimidating.
The younger of the two Na’vi was still focused on her hands as she all but nearly dislocate her fingers with the force she was putting into fiddling with them.
Jake let out a long dawn out breath. Not a sigh but … yeah it was a sigh. He looked at his daughter a frown growing onto his face as his brows knitted together. Jake folded his arms all the while staring at his daughter.
His baby girl. Who he almost lost … again! At this point he was starting to lose count of the amount of time his child has endangered herself and almost died. He was exhausted. Not of his child but the worry and fear that was weighting on him.
When he woke up this morning to find her missing it felt as if his hart had stoped right there and then. Waking up Neytiri with shaking hands and calling out a search party to find his little girl who hopefully hadn’t joined Awa in the time it took him to find her missing.
He took in the sight of his little girl, watching her fidget and not making eye contact. He noticed the makeshift turner kit on her arm noting how the wound looked deep and might even need a few stitches … that’ll be fun.
Jake was just staring at her and Alue’k felt so nervous and some other emotion she couldn’t name.
Yeah, she new what she had down was reckless and stupid but she needed to prove herself … she had to … right.
Is that why she couldn’t look at her dad … was she ashamed, embarrassed? No, thats not it. She was proud of her accomplishment, of her victory but if that wasn’t it … what was it?
Jake - What were you thinking? You could have been killed, is that what you want? To leave this family broken so you can have a joy ride?
Jake didn’t mean his words … well not all of them. He was angry and he wanted to get his point across to his daughter. He didn’t want to loose his baby, why was that so hard for her to understand?
Alue’k stoped fidgeting instead focusing all her energy of the ground and if willing Awa to swallow her hole.
Jake - What you did was dangerous and reckless. Awas sake, and for what? To prove that your grown, that your ready for the responsibility of being a hunter?
Alue’k stood still with bated breath, eyes still glued to the ground. Tears had started to grow in the corner of her eyes as she stops a silent sob from escaping her throat.
Fuck. She couldn’t do anything right. She had completed her Iknimaya, she had earned an Ikran so for the love of Awa why was her father still not proud of her. Why dose he still not believe in her, is she truly that hopeless that her accomplishment mean nothing?
Jake, not noticing his daughters change in dementor continues, only one thing going through his mind. His baby could of died today.
Jake - All you’ve done is prove that your not mature enough, that your not ready! Do you know how stupid this was, how recklessly life endangering your actions where? We could of lost you today!
Silent hot tears had started to make there was down Alue’ks face. Why couldn’t she be better? Why … why couldn’t she just do it right? Wait. She had done it, maybe not conventionally but she had done it, damit! So why was her dad so pissed?
Alue’k looked at her dad a new ferocity hitting her like a wave hitting a cliffs edge, she hissed angrily as her fathers ears twitched.
Alue’k - Why can’t you just be proud of me! I know I’m not perfect, I know I came out wrong but the least you could do is let me at least think you believe in me!
Her voice came out as a yell, voice hoarse from holding back sobs. Jakes eyes widened in shock … what?
Alue’k took his expression as one of being caught out and continued as hot tears ran down her face.
Alue’k - I know that you don’t believe in me, I’m nothing, I’m useless and I can’t do shit! I’m slower than Neteyam, I’m not as smart as kiri, I’m not as brave as Lo’ak, I’m not as helpful as Tuk! I’m not good enough, I know!
Her yelling continues, she had wrapped her arms around herself growing desperate for any form of comfort.
Jake looked at his daughter the weight of her words pressing down on him. Is this what she though? Is this what his baby had been carrying around with her since who in the hell knows how long? Had he truly failed as a parent this much, had he failed his baby girl?
Alue’k had went back to staring at her feet, her feeling had brought on a new exhaustion she didn’t know existed.
Jake sighed for what felt like the millionth time today as he moved closer to the girl and lifted his daughters chin up so she was looking him in the eye.
Jake - Alue’k, I see you.
Jake found his daughters words harte breaking. He couldn’t believe what he had heard, his baby girl had been suffering and had no idea. He was so focused on the idea of protecting her from the outside world that he didn’t realise what was happening to her on the inside.
Alue’k sobbed clinging onto her father as he brought her in for a hug. He held her tight almost as if she would disappear if he loosened his grasp.
Jake sat on the ground, pulling his daughter to sit on his lap as he made a comforting rumbling noise from his chest. Alue’k leans into her fathers hug as her sobs slowly turn into sniffles.
The older Na’vi looked down at his daughter in his lap, a gentil smile gracing his face as he slowly rocked her back a forth in a comforting motion. Just like he had when she was a baby. (Well she was alway going to be his baby, no matter how old she was).
Jake - Have I ever told you the story of the day you were born?
Alue’k shook her head, her outburst of emotion had tiered her out and now she couldn’t muster the energy to talk.
Jake - You came into this world very early, you were too impatient to wait an extra a month. You just had to come out and meet everyone.
Jakes comment made the girl smile a soft chuckle leaving her chest, it was met by a smile from her father who was just happy to see his baby laughing … and alive, safe in his arms where he could protect her.
Jake - Your mother and I were so happy to meet you but you were so small, I could hold you with one hand.
Jake looked away for a moment as it it physically hurt him to say his next sentence … which it did. Nobody want to talk about their child almost being taken away from them, especially when they’ve bearly had the chance to get to know them.
Jake - When you were born you didn’t cry, you were completely silent. Your mother and I begged Awa to let you breathe, begged you to breathe then Awa answered us and your chest started to breathe. You started to cry and after that I never wanted to feel like I was losing you again.
-TW- (Mentions of difficult birth/ baby struggling to breath)
Jake didn’t mention some parts of the story as he didn’t think they were fit for a 12 year old.
He didn’t mention how Neytiri had spent hours in labour struggling to gain any progress in delivering her baby.
He didn’t mention Neytiris heartbroken cry’s at the realisation that their baby wasn’t breathing.
He didn’t mention how he had broken the newborns ribs doing CPR trying to get blood flowing through her body and air to her brain as her lungs seemed to fail her.
He didn’t mention that in his story as he still had nightmares about it.
(-End of TW-)
Jake - I see you Alue’k. You’re my baby girl who can do anything she sets her mind to. You always find a way to go on, you’re a tough kid. I believe in you. I’m just scared of losing you.
The tears that had subside only moment ago resurfaced as she clung to her father, mumbles of I’m sorry tumbling out of her mouth.
Jake just held her close shushing her, gently rocking her back and forth.
Jake - It’s ok baby girl, daddy’s here. I’ve got you, your safe I promise.
After about an hour or so Alue’k calmed down and just sat comfortably in her dads arms. She finally mustered the strength to sit up a looked him in the eyes.
She understood now. While her insecurities where still there, she knew her father believed in her. He didn’t think she was not enough.
She smiled at him and he smiled back just enjoying each others silent company.
Jake - Your grounded.
Alue’k taken aback by the ruined moment looked at her father.
Alue’k - Daddddddddd!
Jake just chuckled a small bemused huff leaving his chest.
Jake - Don’t “dadddd” me baby girl, you snuck out and nearly got yourself killed. That’s fair ground for getting grounded.
Alue’k - Uhggg.
She slumped over, laying on her father while Jake just laughed stroking her hair out of her face.
An’ri who had sat patiently while her Na’vi … finally dealt with her unresolved emotions had decide that it was time to make an appearance.
She made her way over to the Na’vi and laid her head on her friends shoulder who erupted in giggles as it somehow managed to tickle her.
Jake cocked his head and gently held his hand out to the Ikran who looked at him wearily. An’ri turned to Alue’k and watched as she hugged him showing that he was not a danger.
So An’ri accepted his offer allowing the older Na’vi to stroke down her neck.
Alue’k - She’s death, so she can’t hear me when we’re not bonded so I’ve got to show her I’m safe in a different way.
Alue’k explained anticipating her fathers question, Jake only nods not expecting that answer but of course it was his daughter who managed to bond with the only death Ikran he had ever heard of.
He smiled to himself watching his daughter cuddle and coo to her Ikran, reminding him so much of the girls mother who had once done the same to her own.
Once again noticing the wound on his daughters arm her pulled her to him and inspected it. He looks at her asking a silent question of what happened.
Alue’k sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck with her other hand, chuckling nervously.
Alue’k - I kinda forgot the leather tie so I had to use my … arm instead.
Jake shakes his head in disbelief.
Jake - your going to be the death of me kid.
She drew in closer to her dad, cuddling close to him.
Alue’k - I know.
A mischievous smile crossed Alue’k face as she turned back to her dad.
Alue’k - Wanna race back to high camp?
A matching smirk crossed Jakes face.
Jake - Ok baby girl but I’m not going to go east on you.
Alue’k snorted as she picked up a sleeping Tonôwa and mounted her Ikran.
Alue’k - I was hoping you’d say that.
Jake just shook his head in amusement as he mounted his Ikran making the bond.
Jake looked at the fine young women his daughter was turning into … determined, strong, funny, caring he was so proud, he didn’t think there was a word for how much pride he had for his baby. For all his children.
Jake - Ready?
Alue’k smiles in agreement as she hold on to Tonôwa as she edges toward the cliffs face.
Jake smiled doing the same.
Alue’k - On 1. 3, 2, 1.
With that they took of racing each other through the floating mountains back to their home, back to their family.
Laughter filled the air as Alue’k did a flip, it was as if she was made to ride Ikran … maybe she was.
Once they finally reached home Alue’k was met with a very pissed Neytiri who cuffed her on the back of her head before bringing her into a bone crushing hug.
Alue’k - … Ow.
Neytiri - Foolish girl. Never again, don’t scare us like that again.
Alue’k pulls her mom closer cuddling into her.
Alue’k - I’m sorry mama.
It was almost a whisper but Neytiri heard it, she looked at her middle daughter cupping her face and smiled.
Neytiri - Oh my sweet girl.
She pulled Alue’k closer (If possible) to her and they just stood like that for a moment until Tuk joined.
Then kiri who laid her head on Neytiris shoulder and stood close to Alue’k (Kiri’s not a huge fan of hugs).
Lo’ak and Neteyam soon joined cuddling close to their sisters and mother.
Finally Jake joined in the group hug as well, his large arms engulfed the entire family, holding them close.
This is when Alue’k realised something very important. No matter what, this is where she always would want to be. Wrapped in her family loving, warm … safe embrace.
Alue’k smiled enjoying the warmth and thanked Awa for her breath … for her family.
Quick Note - Hey! I’m sorry this took a while to come out, it’s not as long as I hoped but there’s around two more chapters for this story so hopefully there be a bit longer. I would also like to give a massive thanks to all the love you guys have shown my fics, it truly makes my day!! 🥰🥹

Lo’ak - where the hell have you been? We’ve been looking for you for hours skxawng! … Hey are you ok? … Alue’k?
Alue’k was compleatly still, her chest heaving as her wide eyed stared at her brother. An overwhelming feeling of relief washed over her just as the reef waves once had. Her lips trembled as she shakily unwrapped her arms from around herself.
A chocked sob erupted from her chest as she jumped into her brothers arms, tears and snot ran down her face as she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck.
Fuck the not want to cry. She was sad and in pain, she was gunna fucking cry!
Her arms tightened around her brothers neck as she hid her face (and bruised eye) from Lo’ak who grew more concerned with each second.
Taken aback by the sudden change in weight Lo’ak stumbled, catching himself on the back of his heels as he steadied himself on the sandy ground.
… What was happening? Lo’ak didn’t know what to do, Alue’k wasn’t the type of kid to break down over nothing and Lo’ak had no idea how to make her feel better. Lo’ak was good at distraction, at making the pain go away with funny jokes and laughter. Now however, in this situation his sister needed a rock, someone she could cling to and be comforted by. Eawa he wished Neteyam was here. In a desperate attempt to comfort his crying sister Lo’ak pulled her close wrapping his arms around her.
Lo’ak could only remember one time he’d ever seen his sister act this way. Lo’ak couldn’t remember Alue’k this distraught and broken since the day Tonôwa went missing. She was only eleven and had spent the hole day curled up in a ball on there moms lap crying her little eyes out until there father had finally managed to find him and brought him home. (The little creature was meet with happy squeals and lots of cuddles from Alue’k.🥺🥺)
Lo’ak tried to forget the heartbroken look on his sisters face as she whimpered sadly for her friend. There mother gently stroking her face, trying to calm her young child her attempted was useless but at least she was trying. He never wanted to see that look on his sisters face again but here they where, Alue’k in tears sobbing into his shoulder, shaking with hiccuping breath.
Alue’k enjoyed the moment of comfort after the shit say she’s had, Eawa knows she deserves it. However, the moment is quickly interrupted as an all to familiar feeling weighs down on Alue’ks lungs.
The young Na’vi girl sharply pulled away from Lo’ak and in his brief moment of shock he almost pulled her back until he watched her painfully gag up at least two mouthfuls of water.
Lo’ak - What the fuck?
The boy was in full panic mode now. He tried to get an answer form Alue’k but she just continued to cry as her body shook with sobs. When Lo’ak realised his questions weren’t getting answers he gave up. He needed to be there for his little sister, he could find out what happened later.
Lo’ak placed a hand on her back rubbing up and down while he tilt rocking. Alue’k sobbed harder, she wasn’t sad at his reaction but at herself. She almost gave this up, her brother, her siblings, her parents … everything.
Alue’k clung tight to her brother as he continued to gently rock back and forth. Lo’ak rested his head atop of his sisters and began to hum an all to familiar song, it was the one Neytiri composed when Neyteyam was born. She had sung it to all her children but the was Lo’ak hummed it was off, it was similar to they way Jake would sing it. Some words where mispronounced and given a totally different meaning but it was still good to hear, it reminded her of her dad.
After a while Alue’ks sobs had calmed and now there was only a small sniffle every free minutes. The young girl wiped her eyes as she cuddled into her brother.
Lo’ak - Alue’k what the happened?
Alue’k - Nothing. Nothing happened.
Alue’k wanted to tell him. She really did … but there family was safe here so she’d be damed if she screwed this up. She could take a lecture on water safety but she couldn’t handle her family being banished because of a retaliation from her brothers to the boys who had almost drowned her. She wouldn’t endanger her family.
Lo’ak looked unimpressed as he lifted her chin up so they were face to face. As the looked at one another Lo’ak noticed the growing black and purple bruise around her eye, his own widened in worry, Alue’k quickly turned her face away.
Lo’ak - Really? So nothing happened, nothing happened to your eye to I’m guessing?
Alue’k shot her head back at him, trying to form some sort of lie … she was a horrible liar.
Alue’k - N,No. No. I …. I tripped, yeah I tripped and landed on a … rock?
The girl gently pressed on the growing bruise, hissing at the pain. Lo’ak rolled his eyes a playful demeanour taking over, as he poked at his little sisters side.
Lo’ak - It’s gunna hurt if ya prod at it, skxawng.
Alue’k pouted as she leaned into her brother. She sat quietly, listening to the beat of her brothers harte and the steady rise and fall of his breath trying to match her own with it.
During the time Lo’ak had managed to get Alue’k to settle down Tonôwa had made his way over and was now sitting comfortably beside the two siblings as Lo’ak gently scratched behind one of his tendrils as Tonôwa purred quietly. (My baby🥺🥺)
The siblings cuddle session was cut short as Lo’aks attention was caught by something and when Alue’k looked up to see what it was, her breath got caught in her throat.

When Alue’k woke up she was surrounded but her siblings who had wrapped themselves around her. She smiled, she’d have to apologise later. Her parents were on opposite ends of the cuddle pile sleeping soundly … so it was time to put her plan into place.
She slowly moved Neteyams arm from around her and shimmed her legs out from under Kiri and Lo’ak. Trying as quietly as she possibly could to grab her small dagger and holster it into its place on her side.
Tonôwa groggily wines and Alue’k desperately shushed him, holding him close as she crept out of their hut.
With a sigh of relief she leaves high camp and makes the same journey as yeasterday to Oo’rah but now she has to go the dangerous way … outstanding.
As she carefully made her way up the rocks of the hallelujah mountains almost sliping a few times. Tonôwa nipped at her ears while he grumbled as if trying to tell her this was a stupid idea and that’s she’s a skxawng.
After a few minutes Alue’k realise she couldn’t make it the rest of the way while carrying Tonôwa so she did the only reasonable thing possible in that situation (no she didn’t drop him). She ripped some of her skirt of and used it as a baby wrap. She had seen her mother do it many times with Tuk as a baby and she never fell so it will probably work with Tonôwa … hopefully.
So Alue’k continued her climb with Tonôwa swaddled to her chest, then she finaly reached the the last rock. When at the top she saw the slowly spinning floating rock Island, she noticed particularly the long sturdy looking vines that hung below at a level it would be easy to jump for … if your timing was right.
Alue’k steadied herself as Tonôwa whimpered.
Alue’k - Be calm, Tonôwa. I will keep you safe, I promise.
Tonôwa settled down and cuddled into Alue’ks chest and soon enough soft snores could be heard rumbling off of him. Aluek rolled her eyes holding him tight in one arm as she made the leap, grasping tightly to the overgrown vine.
A small sigh left her lips … that she soon regretted as she noticed she was sliding down the vine. In a desperate measure to stop herself from falling she bit into the root holding her place as she readjusted and started to clim.
Once she made her way to the edge she hoisted herself up and over. It was so pretty and … thrilling. To prove to herself what she could do. It was exhilarating.
Next is crossing the roots from one floating island to the other that should be simple enough … probably. Alue’k makes her way across the roots also taking the time to enjoy the colour of the changing sky. It went from a dark blue to a dusty pink but it also makes her conscious of time or more accurately her lack of time.
When she get the the tunnels inside Oo’rah she pauses and looks around, she thinks about what she’s doing and the danger she’d be in if it went wrong. If her own parents have given up on her what kind of hope can she have for herself. Tears start to form in her eyes again and with those thoughts in mind Alue’k turns around getting ready to go back down the mountain. A disheartened look on her face because now she truly has to accept she’ll never really catch up to the rest of her family.
Her parents were right, she’s not ready.
Skreee!!
It catches her off guard at first but then she realised what it was … it was an Ikran! She looks at herself in the reflection of the water pool that threw its water of the mountains edge with great strength and force. Damit, she might not like water but if she couldn’t learn from it! She smiled. Alue’k Sullys no quitter! Shes strong and wilful, she’s gunna prove them wrong … even if it gets her killed.
Alue’k readys herself, checking her knife is in place as well as lowering Tonôwa (who had slept the entire dam time) onto the ground. He looked at her as if trying to tell her good luck and to be careful. Alue’k nodded in agnolagment of the creatures request before making her way behind the waterfall and across the slippery rocks.
The moment she put her foot down she slipped, catching herself by throwing her weight backwards on the solid mountain rock at the last minute as Tonôwa wined in worry. She sighed, relieved and laughed as Tonôwa growled at her. She only shook her head and continued across the slippery rocks.
When she reached the other side she looked around in amazement at the Ikran but was quickly brought back to focus when she noticed the rising sun, her parents would realise she’s missing soon if they haven’t already.
She walked slowly into the crowd of Ikran as they hissed but flew away, that was until one of them didn’t. She stood her ground hissing and snarling.
Alue’k smirked.
She was amazing! orange, yellow and brown scales with piercing green eyes.
Alue’k - Kay mama, let’s dance.
Ikran - Skree!
Alue’k - Hisss
She circled the Ikran as it watched her closely, Alue’k bared her teeth. She continued to circle her, waiting for an opening. When the moment was right Alue’k jumped onto the Ikrans back looking for her leather tie to trap it’s mouth shut as it flailed around trying to rid itself of the girl on its back. Alue’k came to a realisation … she forgot the tie. SHE FORGOT THE DAM TIE.
Ikran - Skree!
With only one option to try and have the Ikran to shut its mouth, she grits her teeth and sticks her arm near the creature head and its bites down … hard. A scream of agony leave Alue’ks mouth as she hisses in pain but only for a moment. She uses this time to wrap her legs around the Ikrans head holding her down while using her other hand to make Shahaylu. It’s painful as the banshee continues to pull at her arm until the bond is made.
Alue’k - Let go!
The Ikran lets go of her arm but Alue’k didn’t have time to fully register it before her Ikran starts to slip backwards and falls of the side the mountain.
And that how we got here.
This was a bad idea the only thought that crosses Alue’ks mind as she fell in a flailing frenzy from Oo-rah still attached to a screeching Ikran.
Ikran - Skree!
Starting to get frustrated but the loud noise and the pain of bashing agains to many dam rocks (and the pain of the large bite mark in the arm) Alue’k yells out.
Alue’k - Damit, fly straight!
With the order the Ikran follows the direction and Alue’k smiles as she continues to direct her new friend around. She pets the Ikran but notices something odd, her Ikran isn’t responding to any other sound but Alue’ks orders which is normal, Aluek guested. Although her Ikran is almost to focused on her almost as if it’s the only think she can hear.
Oh Awa … her Ikrans death, isn’t she? after a few moment of trying to have her respond to other sound stimulus Alue’k finally reaches that conclusion. She doesn’t mind though, she believes it adds personality to her already very amazing new friend.
For a few moments Alue’k just simply enjoys gliding through the air and watching the other Ikran fly around her.
They land back where there bond was made to retreated Tonôwa is is rather sceptical but after a few minutes of Alue’k calling him he agrees. Alue’k picks him up and he snuggles into her lap as they take off once again.
While in the air Alue’k takes the moment to wrap the torn bit of fabric over her injured arm … that will be fun to explains to her parents. Oh Awa, her parents are going to skin her.
So which her impending doom she takes the moment to just enjoy being with her new friend and of course Tonôwa.
Alue’k - Hey girl you need a name, got any in mind?
Ikran - Skree!
Alue’k smiled, as she hugged the Ikran gently at rocking down her neck.
Alue’k - You know I like Skree too but I was thinking somthing more along the lines of Nabi? Or Aontri!
The Ikran hissed not pleased with Esther of those options, Alue’k chuckled.
Alue’k - Ok then grumpy, what about … An’ri?
Ikran - Skree!
Smiling Alue’k pet Tonôwa as she directed her Ikran … An’ri to land. She was feeling light headed but wasn’t sure if it was from the long clime of bliss loss. Probably blood loss.
An’ri chirped and curled around Alue’k as she rested her eyes for a bit while Tonôwa got busy making himself comfortable in her lap.
She closed her eyes and drifted to sleep. Not long after was she awoken by frantic calls of her name and her com going off.
Lo’ak - Alu!, Alu!
Alue’k groggily answered not fully remembering where she was or what she had done.
Alue’k - Lolo, what do you want, I’m tiered.
It came out as a wine which would of annoyed Lo’ak more but the sound of her voice just made him happy,he knew his sister was safe. It also got their parents attention, well there fathers at least.
Lo’ak - Where the hell are you, you skxawng!
Alue’k looked around and her eyes widened, so that wasn’t a dream. A large Ikran was wrapped around her sleeping soundly as a very annoyed Tonôwa wriggled around on Alue’ks lap. That meant … she looked over to her side where a dull ache was coming from only to see the entire makeshift bandage soaked in blood. Why dose this only happen to me! she thought grouchily.
Alue’k - Fuck.
Jake - Language, baby girl where are you, are you ok?
Alue’k rubbed the back of her neck with her good arm, nervously chuckling.
Alue’k - I think I’ve done something really dumb
Lo’ak - (mumbling) What’s new.
Alue’k - Shut it, Lo’ak!
Jake - Alue’k. Where are you?
Shit. No pet names … I’m fucked.
Looking around for some for of land mark I realise Im perched on the other side of the mountain where high camp is.
Lo’ak - Damit answer the com!
Alue’k - Im looking for a land mark! Assface.
Jake - Hey! Your in enough trouble as it is, so for the last time watch your language.
Alue’k - Yes, Sir.
Alue’k - I’m on the opposite side of the mountain towards high camp … I think. I’m on a ledge with tall stones.
Neteyam - I’m close by that Sir. I’ll go get her.
Oh thank god, Neteyam closest.
Jake - No Neteyam, find your sister and keep and eye on her, make sure she stays put. I’ll meet you there son.
Jake must have turned his com off as there was no sound from him for a few moments after he had given Neteyam his directions.

Aluek was scared.
She shouldn’t have been, she knows that. Her dad was her rock, her protecter.
So why was she shaking?
Deep down she knows why, she knows why she’s scared. She’s terrified of his reaction, terrified of what he’ll say, think, do when he find out she almost drowned, that those boys had left her to die and that she, for a moment, was ok with that.
She gave up.
Jake kneeled infront of his eldest and scooped Alue’k from Neteyams arms holding her tight to his chest. He could finally breathe, he didn’t feel like he was drowning anymore because his little girl was safe. She was ok.
All of Alue’ks fear and pent up anxiety of how her father would react washed away as she was held tight in his arms. She cuddled close to his chest as her arms slowly moved to wrap around his neck.
After a few moments of just embracing each other Jake pulled away, looking into his daughters eyes. She was safe, in his arms. Now, she was in so much trouble.
Alue’k winced slightly at the change in Jakes face, he looked pissed.
Jake - Do you know how worried we were? We thought the worst has happened! Dam near the entire village searching for you, what the hell were you thinking?
Alue’k suddenly found her hands very interesting as she played with them. Wringing her wrists and twisting her fingers.
Jake had to grab them because he was scared she’s dislocate her fingers.
His eyes never left her and while Alue’k normally found this comforting, at the moment it was the most daunting thing to have ever happened to her. (And that’s saying something).
Alue’k pulled her head up so they were eye level and her eyes began to water as she took in the look of her fathers face.
His mouth was agape as he scanned over his baby girls face. A new feeling arose within the man as he bared his fangs, hissing at the sight before him.
His baby was all busted and bruised with blood speckles dried into her lips.
His eyes lingered on the bruise that mapped around the side of her face, noticing the scratches and dry blood on her neck. What the hell happened?
He cupped her face tears still bared, in a moment of fear Alue’k flinched … she flinched.
Jake immediately drew back his hand as guilt rose up inside of him. He scared her.
Jake - Hey, hey baby, baby girl it’s ok. It’s just me, it’s dad yeah? Comm’er baby girl.
With that he pulled her in closer cupping her face again as fat tear rolled down the young girls face.
Alue’k - Da.. Daddy.
Jake felt his heart brake in that very moment. He cupped her face again making sure to be gentle around the bruising.
Jake - Yeah baby girl it’s daddy, I’m right here.
Jake held her tight, a comforting rumble coming from his chest as he gently rocked back and forth.
His eyes lingered on the bruise that mapped around the side of her face, he then noticed the scratches and dry blood on her neck. What the hell happened?
After a few minutes Jake finally asked.
Jake - Baby girl, what happened?
Alue’k looked away, she wanted to tell her father everything … but she felt like it would disappoint him. He had told her to keep her head down and now she had half the village up in the middle of the night searching for her.
Alue’k - I … I … I don’t want to tell you, I think you’ll be mad.
I took everything in her to confess but now that it had been said she could almost see the part of the weight being lift off of her.
Jake paused.
Jake - Baby girl, why would I be mad?
Alue’k shuffled deeper into her fathers chest, cuddling close to him as his arms wrapped around her.
Alue’k - I … I didn’t make friends.
Tears leaked from her eyes, at this point she wasn’t even sure If the had ever stoped.
Jake - Baby, fuck friends. I don’t give a dam about this village, we can always leave.
They all knew he was lying but right now it was what Alue’k needed.
Jake - All I care about us this family, that means you too. Baby girl, please tell me what happened.
And the dam broke.
Tears gushed from her eyes like a salty waterfall as she cling to the older man.
Alue’k - I was (hic) playing with (hic) with Tonôwa and they (hic) they dragged me into the (hic) water.
Jake pulled the young girl close. Not fully able to understand what she was saying but trying his best calm her.
Jake - Hey, hey, you’re ok. Daddy’s here, you’re ok.
Alue’k sniffled
Alue’k - They tried to drown me.
In that moment it felt like the entirety of Pandora had gone silent.
