its good to know i spite capitalism with my misspellings
The church, mirroring the liberal establishment, busied itself with charity, multiculturalism and gender-identity politics at the expense of justice, especially racial and economic justice. It retreated into a narcissistic “how-is-it-with-me” spirituality. Although the mainline church paid lip service to diversity, it never welcomed significant numbers of people of color or the marginalized into their sanctuaries.

Why lie?
I lie to justify.
Justify myself.
Justify these actions.
Not even realizing the reaction.
Not even realizing how much I hurt,
She hurt,
We hurt.
I covered up my pain,
But its beginning to drive me insane.
i justify to keep me sane.
So why lie?
I lie to justify.
I wrote this poem about Self justification and why exactly we do it. We do it to make ourselves feel good. Sometimes we lie to ourselves in order to justify things or actions, even the actions of others. My poem is specifically about a girl being raped and constantly lying to herself, trying to cover up her pain and also justify the actions of her boyfriend who raped her. But when she does that, it affect everyone around her. Even girls she hasn’t met yet. When we cover those things up, people become afraid to speak out against who hurt them. I know we learned in class that some self justification is good but sometimes we dont need to lie to ourselves. Let it go (:
