All right folks, here’s the follow up post I promised for my FE3H s/I! I’m sure there might be more in the future but for now, this will delve into more about Mai’s appearance, more chronological events, and a bit of her personality. As well as hints on significant relationships that should be kept in mind for future fan fiction.

+ Before she died, her looks were relatively plain. Straight brown hair that reached down to her chest, along with long bangs that parted to her left. Brown eyes hidden behind her dark blue-framed glasses; she also typically dressed as she felt most comfortable. She once stood at 5’3”.
+ When she died and reincarnated in Sayeko, both their phenotypes seem to have intermingled, though Sayeko’s are still more prominent. Sayeko’s bright red hair has dimmed down to a dark auburn, as well as Sayeko’s eyes morphing from sky blue to marble grey, with a light skin tone. And because Sayeko’s vision is better, Mai doesn’t have a need for glasses at this time.
+ Because of their circumstances, usually it’s Mai that has almost full possession of Sayeko’s body. The person herself, her soul has been weakened, incapable of staying awake for long and so, in order to regain her strength, spends her days dormant. Still, she watches over Mai to make sure she knows what she’s doing, as her conscience. Though down the line, it’s evident that there is more to the two than that.
+ Passive observations from students and staff are that they are still baffled by Mai’s character. It goes on to borderline strange, ‘as if she acts like two different people.’ If only they knew...
+ Mai and Sayeko came upon the monastery after rescuing a skirmish of soldiers from the Church of Seiros from demonic beasts in the year 1175. Mai declines on becoming a knight or a staff member and simply resolves to living there from now on, for Sayeko’s benefit.
+ In the year 1177, after an emergency that required Mai to take action and assist the Knights of Seiros, Lady Rhea finally insists she would be an asset as a professor to the Officer’s Academy. Seteth, while hesitant, also agrees having watched her go about the monastery. They compromise and allow Mai to simply be a Professor’s aide.
+ Thus, she simply went around and did more administrative work, mostly taking loads off of Seteth whenever necessary, and assisted in the dining hall and greenhouse more often.
+ While both girls don’t care much for family history, especially in crests, it’s possible that Sayeko’s mother may have inherited a crest that was long forgotten in time.
+ Mai and Sayeko work together almost fluidly. They complement each other ver well so, it’s not that much of a struggle being Sayeko. However, what Mai hates is that it renders Sayeko incapable of forming bonds. Having to hide behind formidable lies, just so Sayeko wouldn’t be labeled and hunted as a lunatic, this only amplifies her anxiety and paranoia.
+ In the beginning, when all the important students come to Garreg Mach, no matter how amicable Mai tries to be, it’s pretty evident she actively treads carefully, hesitant and careful in everything she says and does. There seems to always be a certain wall that can’t ever be penetrated.
+ For now, Mai is not as prone to bouts of sudden emotions. But when she struggles with organizing them, Sayeko becomes her rock. It’s only a matter of time before the truth prevails over the silence Mai has to keep up. In the end, she comes off as a real frustrating mystery!
Relationships (Part 1): The Staff
+ Rhea: “... There’s something about her that I won’t ever like.”
+ Catherine: “I see. She’s an unformidable opponent, that’s for sure.”
+ Shamir: “She’s very cool. I... I really want to get the kind of haircut she has.”
+ Hanneman: “Since his expertise is in Crests, maybe he can help with mi—Sayeko’s, I mean.”
+ Manuela: “Ahaha, I think Manuela needs to take it easy in the love department. But, I’m cheering on for her.”
+ Seteth: “*Groans*... What, Sayeko? I didn’t say anything bad, I just made a sound! That’s an improvement, right?”
+ Flayn: “Either she’s not human, or she really doesn’t care for social context... I like her.”
+ Jeralt: “Poor man. He really really needs a break.”
+ Gilbert: “Ugh... I know you agree with me on him, Sayeko.”
