Revisiting my old alien species, the Seiff, and thinking about what sort of coloration ranges and clothing they have. Seiff are most frequently pink, but some individuals dip purple or red ranges of color, and in theory, all Seiff have “freckles” but whether or not they’re visible depends on other factors- they’re most obvious in albinistic specimens where they appear as colorless dots on the outermost layers. otherwise they either “fill” or “smooth out” with pigment.
Re: clothing - The dominant Seiff culture tends to be pretty “conservative” in terms of dress- most of the body is covered, and textiles and fashion are a huge deal for the most part. Seiff, as well as several of their most common domesticated animals, produce quite a bit of silk, both utilized for egg sack/nest construction on the biology side of things, but also often used to create specialized personal garments for family members and close friends.
Also here’s a Seiff baby.
They can run and ESPECIALLY can climb just hours after hatching, and around their first “puberty” when they basically enter adolescence their toes will finish stiffening and straightening from grippy claws to sturdy hooves. Babies are usually allowed to be nakie whenever they want unless it’s too cold, and humans who’ve assisted in caretaking for them basically state that trying to dress the lil babies before they’re old enough to understand that Cold = Bad and that clothes will help is a lot like trying to put a jacket on a wriggly cat.
It’s not easy and they WILL bite.
