Part 1: the papas

How can you grow up in the Ministry as an orphan and never question why you and Papas all share the same white eye whilst no one else does. And you being Nihils assistant for years. Like the signs were all there, mate!

Now, this only works if you assume that the White Eye is a genetic thing.

But in my opinion it is not, and I will use this ask as an excuse to present some evidence that is backing my theory plus some HC. Imho, the White Eye is granted during a Ritual and not of genetic nature.

Evidence 1: The Dance Macabre MV showing Nihil with normal eyes. Until Seestor punches him in the face in the middle of a bloody orgy/ Ritual in front of Satan/Baphy/whoever. Then, suddenly, he has the White Eye.

Evidence 2: Young Nihil in the Ghomic: In all panels before the panels (Issue #3) showing the Ritual that we witness in the Dance Macabre Music Video he has two normal, blue eyes.

Evidence 3: Young Copia in the Ghomic (Issue #4) has 2 normal eyes (2nd pic above). Yes, they’re blue here, but everyone seems to have blue eyes in the Ghomic, so the variation in colour shouldn’t be taken too seriously here; the important bit is, it’s 2 identical, normal eyes.

Every bit of „canon“ material we have shows the young characters with normal eyes. So my theory has long been, that it requires at the very least a Ritual in the name of the Dark One or something. They’re having an orgy in DM video/Ghomic #3, lots of blood is being spilt, Baphomet/Satan/whoever is there!

Optional requirements (now it’s full HC territory): a) reaching some sort of rank/standing in the church (Cardinal or something), so not every random person can do it and b) being deemed worthy by Satan to actually get the Eye.

Tl;dr: I don’t think Copia and the others were stupid for not recognising the obvious; there was no „obvious“, the Eye was not there at birth, because it’s earned, not genetic.
