FOR TOMMEN BARATHEON @secondaryking
For the past few hours, Margaery sat within her personal chambers. Chambers offered to her by the lady of Winterfell upon her arrival with the Targaryen army. Since then, she would find herself cooped up by the fireplace reading books collected from any room she could bring herself to venture. It was how the former queen could temporarily find peace in her circumstances, and tonight like other nights, she sat comfortably on her bed with fur blankets draped over her legs and a book in hand. Stories of a peaceful love affair was the escape she needed from the cruelty the real world had to offer . As preparations were made for the upcoming war and the long winter nights to come, she remain locked up in the space she deemed safe. Safe to shed tears without worrying those who cared for her. An escape from the politics of which she truly wished to keep a distance after everything she’d been through. As her eyes grazed over the romantic passage of two lovers, she allowed herself to smile as she briefly fell into the vision, yet a sudden knock on the door pulled her from the pages, and Margaery quickly lifted her head; loose brunette locks falling over her shoulders as she peered up at the woman who now stood in the way of the opened door. ❛ Oh, Sansa. You startled me. ❜ She said lightly, brushing off a smile when she saw the emotion in her face. ❛ What is it ? Are you alright ? ❜ Concern consumed the woman, but when Sansa stepped aside, she was graced with an unimaginable sight.
❛ Tommen --- ?! ❜ Shock took over her body and she froze still, almost afraid that she had fallen asleep and this was a cruel dream from which she’d wake. Her widened eyes then pulled from his youthful face and onto Sansa’s lips; almost pleading for the woman to wake her before she would break. Instead, she offered them a moment alone and closed the door after guiding him into the room. Sparks from the flames echoed between cold walls, and her book dropped from her hands. Slowly, Margaery pulled herself onto her feet and tears began to gloss over desperate eyes. She then jumped forward, a sudden change in pace, and reached out to grasp onto his cheeks. Much to her surprise, the feeling of live flesh graced her palms, and she fought to find the words. ❛ My sweet king -- You’re ... You’re not dead . ❜ Upon realization, the tears began to fall and she let herself go. Margaery grasped onto his shoulders then fell to her knees.
