Consolation Prize
I’m not your moon, I’m not your stars, I’m not the Sun that lifts your spirits. I’m not the one, I’m no soulmate, I’m not the yin that fulfills your yang. You didn’t wait, you didn’t search, you let me hang while I dried to cure. I am no one, I am nothing, no better than a consolation prize.

By the time you reach 50, you have amassed half a century worth of experience, skill, maturity and wisdom. With a mind rife with agility, a body not old yet, intelligence that has only sharpened with the blade of experience and pressing responsibilities, now a thing of the past; you have a perfect brew for starting afresh.

Choose me or lose me. I'm not a backup plan, & definitely not a second choice.

Im so sick of being everyones second choice while putting everyone else as a first. If I'm your second choice, i really don't need you in my life anymore.
Second Choices || groovyfaith
Erik had been sure of himself, when he'd left Charles that day. The two were bound for different futures, different worlds, the telepath had said it himself. If there was no chance of cooperation, there was no reason to waste time on the attempt.
His wedding to Emma had been orchestrated, that much was obvious. Together, the two of them would have been unstoppable force, metal and minds bending to their will. That had been the intent, when they'd arranged the marriage, and Erik had thrown himself into planning it.
He'd been married once before, after all. And he hated doing anything by halves.
But in the end, it was all for naught. As he waited in the chamber they'd rented, a single white rose and a card, addressed to him in elegant handwriting caught his eye. Grey eyes scanning the note, Erik tossed the rose to the ground, anger and indignation causing the candelabras and other metal decorations to vibrate and bend.
How dare she betray him like this?
Marching out of the chapel, Erik's mind made decisions for him. Never mind the years of distance between them, he was going to take Charles with him on the trip that should have been his honeymoon. He knew no one else, really, and part of his reasoning could be found there. The rest, though, was a vicious cut in his own heart, the knowledge that Charles would never have walked out on him like this.
It took him less time than expected to reach the mansion, and he didn't bother to take note of its dilapidated state as he walked in, taken in by his own plans.
"Charles, we're going down to Mexico. Don't ask questions, just pack."

Nobody choses me because I'm what they want.
It only works out when I'm all they have
for now.
