It had been a calm and relaxing day for you so far. The scent of cinnamon and fresh baked cookies filled your small apartment as you were cleaning up the kitchen. Thankfully it only took you mere moments to finish your task before you placed a plate of cookies on the couch table. You had tried to kill time with baking until Bucky would come home. Lately, they had a lot more briefings before missions. Everyone seemed to take on the role of the leader at the same time and it only caused chaos. You just hoped that today wouldn't end in a fist fight like it did last time. To be completely honest you probably couldn't care less how these briefings would go as long as Bucky was safe and sound.

You sat down on your sofa after you wrapped yourself in a warm and fuzzy blanket. After zapping through the various movie options you settled for one you hadn't seen yet. With each passing minute, your eyelids grew heavier until the noise created by someone entering the apartment stirred you awake. Slowly you stood up and turned off the tv before you made your way to the small entrance hall, where you watched Bucky taking off his shoes and coat. He had his back turned to you and once he stood up straight again you stepped closer to him and gently put your arms around his upper body and leant your head on his back. Bucky put his hands over yours and squeezed them lightly. “How did it go today?”, you asked him quietly before he turned around in your arms and nuzzled his face into your neck. “Let’s not talk about that.” His voice was only a mumble, but due to his mouth being so close to your ear you understood him clearly.

Bucky pulled away from you and put his head in his hands. You ran your hands through his hair before you took his hands away from his face. You pressed a soft kiss on his lips and looked into his loving eyes. You took his hands in yours and lead him to the living room. "Let's just watch a movie and cuddle. I'll make hot chocolate. It's gonna be a nice evening, alright?" The mere tone of your calm voice was enough to relax Bucky, the mention of hot chocolate helped too. You watched Bucky from the kitchen, as he reached for one of the cookies.

Only a few minutes passed until the hot chocolate was ready. With one cup in each hand, you made your way back to the sofa and sat down next to Bucky. Words weren't needed between you two, you just snuggled up to him and put a blanket around the both of you. "What do you want to watch?" He asked as he zapped through the channels, Christmas movies airing on every single on of them. "Oh, there's Elf!", you smiled brightly as he said that. He didn't seem the average romantic boyfriend but he did know quite some things about you and it always made you smile when he remembered things like your favourite Christmas movie.

The hours passed and you two laughed and shed a tear here and there as you watched the various Christmas movies until you couldn't hold your yawns back anymore. Bucky notices how tired you were and to be honest, he was too. He turned off the TV and stood up. Missing the warm body next to you, you looked at him confused, until he picked you up bridal style. He carried you into the bedroom and softly sat you down on the bed.
