A brief glimpse of a smiling Demri in the wild! This was filmed at The Offramp in Seattle, Washington on February 1st, 1991 by Jeff McEwen! *scroll*
During the performance, Layne also jokingly banters with who I assume is his friend, Boyd, about going home with him instead of Demri:“Thanks Boyd—does that mean I got a date tonight?! Hey Demri, I’m going home with Boyd! That’s it, I’m in love.”

Happy birthday Layne!
Today is bittersweet. Layne, you’d be 52 today if you were still with us. Although you might not be here physically, your voice is forever immortalized within your music that touched so many lives—including my own. Happy birthday, we love you💛🤘🏻

Stereo Creeps - Suck
I never get tired of hearing amazing new music from bands right here in Seattle and this new Stereo Creeps album has been in HEAVY rotation since the band slid me a pre-release copy ahead of their big release party this Friday at @substation206. This album took me back to the 90s in every good way possible and I joked with Sean Moe of the band that I wish John Carpenter would write Escape from Seattle just so that 1) we could see Kurt Russell kick some more ass and 2) so that Stereo Creeps could put the first half of this album on the soundtrack. Why the first half? Well, when they recorded and sequenced this album with vinyl in mind, they put all the grungy, scuzzed out hard rock party bangers on the first side and then after the flip you get to hear their darker and more brooding stuff. It’s intentional and it definitely works (though don’t blame me for replaying the first side a few times once I made it through the whole album). Fans of the stoner rock of early Clutch albums, guitar work of Brant Bjork and the Kyuss crew, and maybe even a little bit of TAD from way the hell back when throw into the mix will feel very at home listening to this crusher of a record. Seattle-based and industry famous mastering magician Levi Seitz at @blackbeltmastering mastered this album beautifully and cut the lacquers for this ultra limited 300 unit pressing and it is as crispy and beautiful as anything he’s done. If you want this beautiful translucent blue rarity, you’re going to have to pick one up at a show or DM them here or on FB directly which seriously ups the collectability factor for those of you into snagging white whales.
