RAIL 450: DESIGN PROCESS The concept of “ a journey” was the source of inspiration to draw units from the sections of a train railway track. I designed first a single unit, Rail 450, that is the starting point for the development of a series of complementary elements. From Rail 450, I designed a series of different sizes, heights and shapes that can be stacked on each others and multiply to compose a wall or a landscape. The guests can take control of the space. Like a giant Lego or Tetris, they play and shape the space their way. When multiplied the units become a bench. It is a stool, a coffee table, or a side table. It may be lying or standing. It can be stacked to form a column and be stored. Only the imagination of the users will limit the use of these modules.
