Seatide is RiverClan’s healer. I came up with his story after noticing that Warriors’ medicine doesn’t include mental illnesses or psychological issues, a while back. His story is called The Mind Healer.
Seakit and Oceankit were Emberstrike’s kittens. Oceankit fell ill with greencough and the healer at the time, Sunflower, wasn’t able to save him. Emberstrike became overprotective of Seakit during his remaining days at the nursery. When Seapaw decided he wanted to become a healer, Emberstrike started being agressive towards him; she did not appear at his apprentice cerimony under Sunflower.
Seapaw soon became Seatide. After some moons working peacefully with Sunflower, an apprentice named Mushroompaw was attacked by a fox and both started treating her. Seatide noticed, however, that Mushroompaw was suffering beyond her wound and, therefore, decided to try to decipher what was lacking in their treatment. Seatide soon learned that Mushroompaw was suffering lasting psychological effects from the attack and started to study to help her heal from that aswell. Although Mushroompaw never fully recovered from her trauma, she soon was able to return to her duties. Seatide was the founder of a new type of healer, that the cats soon started calling Heart Healer or Mind Healer. He also discovered that the reason why Emberstrike started being agressive towards him back then was because she blamed Sunflower for Oceankit’s death, and exteriorized said anger on Seatide after he decided to be like him.
