NaNoWriMo Day One

I’m about a quarter of the way through the prologue, and really enjoying it so far. The prologue’s going to be a long one, because I’m using it to do a mini introduction to each of my characters’ story arcs, and I might end up changing it during revision/editing, but right now I really like the way I’ve got it set up!
Here’s a quote from it - it’s the very start of the book as it stands right now:
“I suppose this was just another thing you couldn’t interfere in,” Fiadh said nastily as Cethin appeared before her. The taste of bile was still strong in her mouth and her entire body was screaming in pain. It had taken her the best part of an hour to limp back to the courtyard of the castle, where she had collapsed in a teary mess against the head of the dead dragon. She couldn’t even stand to look at him.
“I told you there was nothing I could do for her,” Cethin replied, his voice sounding hollow and sad. “But at the very least I can give Saoirse a chance to properly say goodbye to her mother.”
He placed his hands on the dragon’s head and it disappeared, leaving Seastnán’s actual body in its place, looking whole and unblemished. She looked as though she were merely sleeping. Cethin picked her up with one hand, placed his other on Fiadh’s shoulder and transported them back to the house. Fiadh started at the sight of a large funeral pyre sitting in front of the garden.
“You knew?” she asked faintly, her stomach churning.
“I knew before I met her,” Cethin replied softly, laying Seastnán’s body on top of the pyre. “I saw it all; what I foresee cannot be unseen and must come to pass.”
So so far, so good - fingers crossed I can keep this up for the rest of the month!
How was your first day doing NaNo? I hope you’re all enjoying yourselves!
