For #feboardary I wanted to talk a little bit about boarding, starting with thumbnails. Using the Lion King intro as a study example. (Been working on this for Youtube - and still haven’t posted 😅😐) . Part 1/3: THUMBNAILS I love thumbnails! I get all my ideas out first during this important phase. You can be as crude and “horrible”/loose as you want, because this is your chance to experiment with the script. In this example, I found a public Lion King script and broke it down into pieces to thumbail. With thumbs, i’m just trying to get ideas out of my head while following the basics of the script. You can swipe right to see closer examples. I try to use basic shapes, although I prob do more than I need to 😅 . Pans - for a long pan, i just draw the scene as far as I think it needs to be and then draw the boxes around it. It just needs to work, so it’s not about how many boxes - it’s about the whole of the scene and the camera work. How do you like to work thumbs? . Stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow! . . . (Disclaimer - I did not work on lion king or for Disney. This is for educational purposes only) #thumbails #lionking #scripttoboards #howto ##sketch #howstoryboard #scribbles #storyboard #storyartist #instagramartist #artist #art #practice #wip https://www.instagram.com/p/CLI4ieDDYZr/?igshid=eotcn6jj6lei
