“i know your face from somewhere, don’t i?” not known for being notoriously social, it’s definitely something for sam to be approaching a stranger. however, there’s something about them that seems familiar and he can’t put his finger on what it is. “have we had a class together or something?”

he’s  nervous,  there  was  no  doubt  about  it.  pacing  back  and  fourth  as  last  minute  touches  get  sorted,  opening  act  still  playing  on  the  main  stage.  dawson’s  rise  to  fame  had  come  quickly,  had  started  out  posting  covers  of  old  classics  on  youtube,  and  now  he  was  playing  his  own  music,  live,  in  small  venues.  sold-out  small  venues,  may  he  add.  this  wasn’t  his  first  show,  no,  but  his  nerves  remained  the  same.  could  specifically  feel  them  within  the  beat  of  his  own  heart,  the  fluttering  sensations  almost  in  tune  with  the  crowd.  or  maybe  that  was  just  because  he  was  looking  at  her,  the  one  who’d  been  by  his  side  through  it  all.  persuades  himself  to  sit,  even  if  for  a  brief  second,  larger  hand  grasping  that  of  his  girlfriend’s  to  pull  her  down  on  the  chair  with  him.  “  ─  will  i  be  seeing  you  out  in  the  crowd  tonight,  or  are  you  gonna  kick  it  backstage  ?  ”  a  pause,  and  then  his  chin  rests  against  her  shoulder.  “  because  you’re  practically  my  good  luck  charm  at  this  point,  i’d  love  to  see  you  out  there.  ”  /  @scriptcr​

tala santos was a fan favorite around the precinct — detectives and suspects alike had no issue with her charismatic waltz between desks, even if it was to pick up information. she knew she was alluring, she knew the pull she had on men who worked sixty hours a week trying to close some cases.  on a thursday afternoon, she has a two hot coffees in her hands before placing them down on a slightly cluttered desk. her eyes are warm and her voice is honeyed ever gently as she looks at the detective.  “ is that a new tie ? ” is her chosen greeting for the day, as she raises a hip to sit on the corner of the table. “ i think i like this color on you, detective newman — and what do you think of this color on me, hm ? ” her hands smooth over the maroon dress that clung to every curve as she looks down at him.  “ is it nice enough to whisper a few names in my ear ? ”

the clouds pushed across the nightsky like evil harbingers, made the stars disappear and every light that should guide the way across the sea. a storm would come, sooner or later, and whether the ship could withstand it would be decided by fate alone. he paced up and down the deck, his steps fast and loud. "we can't change plan, we have to take this route," he muttered from between his lips, words his crew members obviously didn't like. because the route that he would stubbornly follow would be a journey into certain death. but ezra, had never feared death in his life. "keep it at all costs." was his ultimate decision, and he was about to disappear below deck when angry shouting could be heard on board, men running over with oil lamps and it wasn't long before almost everyone was gathered on the other end of the ship. he looked sullenly at his crew, it had to be something damn exciting if his men stopped getting the ship ready to get through this storm. he pushed past them and forward and there he saw the net and much more what was in it. they all looked at her in disbelief, there was silence on deck and ezra crouched down in front of the net, his lips forming a smile. "well, look at what we caught." he grabbed the net and pulled it a little to the side so that he could better see what was in front of him. "perhaps, fate is well disposed towards us tonight." he said softly, because she was exactly what they needed to get through this storm. he looked at her one last time before getting up. "bring her below deck." was his instruction. "i want to talk to our new guest.".

––––––––––––HE SHOULD HAVE listened to her. shouldn’t have gone to pick a fight, but ryder was never that person. never one to take a step back and not help april, he found himself marching over to sam’s much more confident than he should have been. he had a box in hand to get everything she could need, and maybe give sam a taste of his own medicine. and while he was still able to get everything, was able to pick up each piece of clothing, and each trinket he remembered was hers, he also returned with some fully blossoming bruises, and cuts that were too painful to think about. and the drive was painful, and this was the one time he regretted living so far from sam. especially when he tried to take as many detours in case he was following him. that being said, sam wasn’t in too good shape either, wasn’t stellar. had bruises and a bloody nose, but ryder should have known. so when he shows up to his place, he’s unlocking the door and barely getting the box on the floor before he needs a moment and just sits down at the threshold. fuck.         ‘ april ? ’

the resort was still a maze to him , doors that lead to random hallways or stairwells that had him end up on the wrong side of the building . dustin swore it was the winchester mansion in disguise . the first few days , he had mainly kept to staying on the slopes or in the break room , that was the only place he could get to . though , the blond decided it was time to adventure and really understand his surroundings . turning the corner to what he assumed was one of the small cafe’s in the lodge , an audible sigh left his lips as a seating area came into view . the fireplace was nice , but it was no cafe . turning around , his blue eyes glanced around the almost empty halls . “ hey uh - “ he called out , attempting to get the girls attention . she looked familiar , but he couldn’t quite place where he recognized her from . “ do you know how to get to the second floor cafe ... thing ? i’m a lot better at navigating the slopes than i am buildings , i guess . “ 

iyanna hated the fancy little soirées her parents just loved to put on during election year; their not-so-subtle way of smooth talking potential donations and guaranteeing the votes of many powerful people. but these parties were also meant for her parents to create a false sense of security amongst the competition; as the saying goes ‘ keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. ‘ her parents craved a cohesive look, so she and her younger sister talia stood beside their parents as they greeted each guest as they arrived. the fake smile that had been plastered to her face fell though as her parents’ biggest competitors walked in, a very familiar face not far behind them. oh how her sister would be dying now if she knew that iyanna’s promiscuous ways had caught up with her. unknowingly, the blond had become INTIMATELY familiar with who had to be none other than their son. catching the other’s eye, she mouthed “ follow me. “ to the other, politely excusing herself and heading towards the kitchen. the doors had been slid shut to hide away the bustle of the catering company within the room but was the perfect place to talk privately. “ i didn’t know your parents were running for congress as well. “ she huffed.
