i kind of suspected since last year that "bête noire" was inspired by mystery box shows lol. like, you cannot just randomly compare the lost finale to a milk hammock and then have a fixation on (almond) milk in your own work years later wtf. EDIT: tbh everything about the episode, especially the ending, lowkey felt like a middle finger to lost overall. verity plainly explaining how her compiler works but barely anything about the circumstances of its' creation, "not allegory", even the empress of the universe ending. Idk what else to say, my thoughts are being chaotic atm.
