So I love all their interactions in the story- both the OVA and anime-exclusive (which I don’t think of as noncanon I just look at them with a little more scrutiny) content and the canon content.

I think my favorite interaction in the anime was in the World at Peace episode where they did the headbutt, but in the actual novels I really REALLY get all giggly at the part where Shizuo goes to Izaya’s apartment to confront him with zero evidence, because like...?? Where are you getting your information from Shizuo?? Your patron saint?? Also why do you know where Izaya lives and yet you never go there to attack him?? MAJORLY sus. The novels doesn’t explain this either btw.

I also love the way they obsess over each other and yet any time someone brings them up to each other it instantly illicits a BAD reaction from both of them- Izaya just scowls and is bitter, where Shizuo will throw you and your mother.

Of note though, Shizuo thinks about Izaya more than Izaya thinks about Shizuo. Shizuo’s always thinking how he hates this thing but he hates it less than Izaya. He sees something that reminds him of Izaya- instant bad mood. They’re both so childish! Izaya just compares things he runs into, Eijirou Sharaku for example, to how Shizuo is and he’s like oop- yeah that could’ve been way worse- could’ve been Shizu-chan. They also have these same thoughts in the SH and Sunset novels so I’ve read.

OH and whenever they reunite at the beginning of the Dollars arc!! The fight in the novels went pretty differently than how it does in the anime, but I think both of those were really entertaining. Izaya is braver than he seems but he’s also pretty playful with Shizuo! Shizuo’s just got a one track mind and pretty much shuts down anything Izaya tries to say to reason with him- you know, like a jackass.

And the moment they first meet????? AGHHHHH They’re both so damn entertaining to watch and interesting to see interact!!

I think it’s when Izaya’s talking to Mikado, Anri and Kida... and a random trash can hits him.Seriously, it’s the moment I fell in love with the series and Shizaya. Literally. I think it’s almost everyone’s favorite scene tho ahahaha
