I actually used to be super hella into it. Like, massively super into it. Season 1 and 2 were masterpieces in my mind, and I idolised Benedict, Martin, Moffat, and Gattiss. It was great, and it gave me something to be happy about when my depression was at its worst.

Then the hiatus happened. A whole year of no Sherlock and a whole year to let me figure out all the problematic elements in it. I discovered it was horribly problematic and pretty gross a lot of the time, but I figured I could ignore that for the sake of one of my favourite shows. 

Then the fandom showed up. The horrifying, cruel, and outright mean part of the fandom. I was happily wandering about in the Sherlock fandom, roleplaying during the days, reading/writing fanfiction, when the assholes of the fandom showed up. I got told to  kill myself on a daily basis from people on the internet, got horribly rude comments pasted all over everything I did, and people just tried to make me feel bad about liking Sherlock, which wasn't good for my depression at all. 

I started finding out more and more of the problematic things about the show, and eventually, it just got hard to watch. I haven't even watched s3 because I found it so gross and problematic.
