A magical and emotional journal page I just finished.

No voice, just the sound of paper and memory.

This one felt like a quiet goodbye.

Lennon, the world is probably lucky she can't be bothered and is happy to be focused on her little illegal underground operation. Problem would be if she did it, is she'd do it in a very 'stamp on anyone who gets in my way' fashion which wouldn't win her any friends that's for sure. But she'd find a way around that for sure and not stop until she was a high as humanly possible.

No. I thought i'd still be dancing at this age. Still be in New York as well. I love my daughter to death but I never thought i'd be a mom this young because I wasn't done with my career, it just so happened that it was done with me. At least at the moment. I've not ruled out getting it back. But that doesn't mean I don't like the life I have now - there are parts of it I didn't even know I wanted until they happened and now i'm super grateful for them and very happy I have them.

God there are so many, the industry is a hellscape.

I once worked with a dancer who accidentally spin-kicked her assistant choreographer off the stage into the empty band pit, fracturing her foot and concussing the choreographer. That was pretty wild.

There was also a time when i first started ballet at The Joffrey Ballet they had this method of making sure out legs would not bow out and would instead hyperextend which was where they put out legs hanging over a tall chair, and then placed weights on our knees and out feet on another chair, to push them down. I had that done to me a lot. Only problem is sometimes that can cause your knees to get stuck hyperextended and when that happens the only way to fix it is to break the bones and realign them. I saw that have to be done to some of my classmates. One of them was back dancing lead three and a half months later because she was told if she 'lazed around' any longer they would reduce her roles in all shows moving forward. It's brutal.

Plus they would 'tap' aka smack the back of our legs with bamboo sticks to make us stand straighter. We'd dance through being kicked in the face on stage, if we were dropped by another dancer we were expected to stand up and carry on without complaining. No mercy.
