Korvhan Tilliluk Rascoviss
Korvhan is a verrrry old OC of mine. I had been drawing fragments of him for ages and ages before one day I knew exactly what he looked like, clear as a bell, and I knew his name and basically his whole story in an instant. I sat down, then, and drew him out.
Korvhan is a Scoven, a draconic species that was implanted to a planet to help with a global research project a shape-shifting alien named “Davis” was conducting there. Davis had rounded up a large group of humans from where they had scattered to space (several thousand, which was a huge chunk of what was left of humanity) and settled them on a planet that was similar to what Earth had been once.
The world had very few flat spaces; most of the planet was high, jagged mountains. In the central flat area of the domain, they constructed the First City, where most of the population lived. From there, the humans spread out and survived in the mountains, collecting and submitting data for Davis, which was the agreed upon price for settling here.
Davis wanted to expand his reach in the world, so he imported/invited a pair of Scovens (who were an intelligent, sovereign species), and used their genetics to produce a lesser race of creatures he named Chaskra. The humans aided in the development of a computer program which was capable of gathering sensory data from the Chaskra as they went about life. A nanite system was developed to inject into the first clutch of babies. It would develop a small, non-intrusive home-base within the Chaskra cranial cavity, and transmit any gathered data to Davis.
They also developed a semi-organic receiving/transmitting nanite system to inject into the Scovens, to allow them to control the programs of the Chaskra. It would allow them to transmit to or receive data from any unit over great distances (allowing them to request more data about something, etc).
The problem was that the original program for the Chaskra was flawed, and the nanite program did not stop building once it started. Over the course of roughly 6 years, the nanite program would build a transmission station in the cranial cavity that wiped out higher cognitive function, leaving the Chaskra as mindless, vicious predators.
The Scovens left Davis to try to stop the downfall, but both they and Davis failed. The Chaskra all but obliterated the human population. Davis went into hiding when the Scovens blamed him.
Korvhan is born years afterward, his egg abandoned near a run-down research facility on the eastern coast of the main continent. He is taken in by Rouchelle, a six year old Chaskra who should have been losing her mind to the nanites. However, she has been working with Davis to find a cure, and Korvhan joins them in their fight.
He falls for Rouchelle over the next three years, even as she is losing the fight against the program eating at her mind.
